Cockblocked By Craigslist....HARD (Epic Fail Inside)
Hey guys, it's Ash, the Homeless 18 Year Old from the Intro thread for those of you that have read it, anyway...... I had an Epic Fail this week, ALL week, I was putting in time learning how to make PROFESSIONAL Image Ads for Craigslist/Backpage from scratch just to be denied....
I came across eCashOpinions here, which is a product someone made who was looking for Affiliates for his product here. I decided to sign up, figuring that I could make CL Picture Ads, and post them up and make sales, long story short, the dream died before I could get my hands on it. CL decided to CHARGE people $25 per posting per category in the Jobs section due to all the affiliate programs like ZNZ people were hussling others into signing up for thinking it was a "job" or "business", so I try the services section, only to be denied, because a URL was in the picture
. ALL this hard work for nothing......So anyone with suggestions???
But I am not defeated.....I will continue this long, lonely road to prosperity and try yet again...knowing good and well that a homeless shelter is NOT where I want to be all my life, I'd rather be like one of those rich Party Animals who wakes up in 5 Star Hotel Beds with naked chicks on a random Wednesday Morning

Re: Cockblocked By Craigslist....HARD (Epic Fail Inside)
I haven't messed around with CL in a while, but you used to be able to get around the $25 fee for posting in Jobs by using a good proxy from the location you are trying to post in. CL used to not charge if you are posting in the Jobs section of the same city your IP was from.

Re: Cockblocked By Craigslist....HARD (Epic Fail Inside)
CL has charged for years for Jobs section, that's pretty much only way they make money.
You could try posting in Gigs, that's a free to post section.

They charge for all Jobs posts. I have posted (actual) jobs ads for customer service positions in my city and it was $25 a pop.

There are many failures ahead, dont let ANY of them stop you. Success is built on a mountain of failure...

Large metro areas yes, smaller areas, no. At least not for me, I haven't been charged.

Yep, until they start catching on, which they haven't in years. The smaller areas can be lucrative too, since many are near metro areas.

Re: Cockblocked By Craigslist....HARD (Epic Fail Inside)
Try it out and test it by paying the $25, think of it as reducing the competition. If the category was still free, there would be stiff competition. Part of doing business, just another fee to factor in ROI.

Re: Cockblocked By Craigslist....HARD (Epic Fail Inside)
All that hard work, I would come up with the $25 and post up the ad. It could actually be a blessing in disguise as it was mentioned it will weed out the competition.
Look at it this way, you did all that work.... for free. If you invest the money, it could pay off and you will laugh later at how silly it was to worry about it. Or it could fail but then you know it isn't working and you won't wonder if you should have just tried paying to see what happens.
The unknown will kill ya. Good luck!
Heck if your work is good I bet you could find someone on here to do a JV with ya.

Re: Cockblocked By Craigslist....HARD (Epic Fail Inside)
ANOTHER problem now is that CL also doesn't allow url's to be posted inside pictures, which is the entire point. You want an ad to be professional. Anyone out there actually making money?
