Guys, if you have ever tried clickbank & squidoo lenses together?, i like to know about your progress. Do you think some .edu backlinks will bring SERP for those lenses?

Yep. you can rank squidoo lens.

In the old days you could easily get a squidoo lens to rank and I've made a reasonable amount promoting CB products in the past although my best results came when I promoted CPA offers for health and fitness products.

These days I'm getting a lot of lens's flagged by Squidoo as having links to sites they don't like so it's not as easy (for me anyway).

I've also noticed traffic / rankings starting to improve again for some of my older lens's so I may give Squidoo another look as I pretty much dropped it for money making and now just use them for link building.

Can you tell me the flagged sites of yours? were they some kind of adult related niches? and Can you tell here how did you rank them? like what kind of techniques you used?

Squiddoo lense is old school my friend. When was the last time you saw a squidoo lense rank high in google? Wordpress sites are king now.

Very Wrong if you could not rank lenses it does not make sense to be dead. might be your method is not so good. yes i do agree impact of lenses are not as before for google but Squiddoo still counted as good authority site. And with Proper Back linking plan you can Rank it easily.

It also depends upon your Keyword competition. Why not to give it try ? you will come to know about it. but i think its worth try.

I have a squidoo lens I set up for SEO (backlink) purposes and I think it is outranking the actual website on some terms, without any backlinks to the lens. So there is still potential to rank them, however I was hassled setting it up even though it wasn't even going to a site that appears commercial (until i rank it :P). They didn't think I had enough content apparently and wouldn't publish it publicly, even though I had a good 400+ word article, and properly filled it out. I had to go add in a bunch of modules that really add no value... but I did get it approved. My point is if you are doing anything BH, blatantly commercial, or using direct affiliate links with no landing page I think you could have issues since apparently they do manually check the lenses before letting them be published. This was probably about 2 months ago.

Squidoo ranked well 2 years ago... As for now, not so much but it really depends on KW and niche. They mostly tanked but if you see one ranking 1st pg for a KW then try it out. It's only a couple bucks or time for article + couple bucks for some .edu

What I really think you're asking is if it serves well as a landing page then I'd say no. I'd say that for hubpages, blogger or any other web 2.0. Pony up the $10 for domain and $10/mo for hosting as this is a business. If you can't afford $20 investment to start a business, look elsewhere.

The squidoo or whatever cool new web 2.0 G loves for the time may rank and if it outranks your own site, fuck it, it means you can have 2 of top 10 spots on page 1.

Squidoo is still ranking!! Try searching for "Xbox 360 Troubleshooting" and you will see one Squidoo on the top five. This keyword has got 1,000 searches with low competition. So why not try using Squidoo? Don't be bitter man.

yeah but you are overlooking the fact that WP sites will have no ads other than yours and hence you can always bank more with your own sites. Although if you are just s startup newbie then build 5-6 lenses and try and promote products. But always remember that the chances of people clicking on your product links are slim as they might click on other ads too.

But i can understand about authority being a very well known factor for ranking higher.

i know many people who earn with squidoo.. give it a try. Best Of luck!

Keep spreading this rumor and let us those who earn money from Squidoo on a regular basis have less competition
I have several lenses ranking high in Google. Granted, not lenses with over 1000 searches a month, but little by little it adds up.

Btw, on the issue of Clickbank marriage with Squidoo, it only works if your lens is super great, and I mean NOT a quick web2 type of bh lens. If Squidoo HQ finds you with links going to Clickbank and your lens is on some no-no topic, you're toast. Plus the overzealous squidooers (yeah plenty of them vigilantes in the forum) find you, they'll report you to HQ right away.
