You may not do that. You've basically extracted my entire sales page and put it on this lens and are deceiving the reader into thinking you wrote the book. Also, you can not have an order link that goes directly to my order page at Clickbank without my permission. As an affiliate, you can "pre-sell" the e-book with your lens and have a link to the "7 Day Free Report" only.

Yeah, I basically copied the sales letter and changed it a little bit. I'll change it some more to keep her happy.

I do have a link to the 7 Day Free Report on the lens.

But what about linking directly to the order page. I never thought there was a problem with doing that. Is she correct in telling me that I can't do that without her permission?

She can set the rules any way she pleases, but if you're making sales the way you are, she really should just stfu and take the sales unless you're being SO bad that she's getting chargebacks (returns).

You've already got the lens built, so you've invested your time. Might as well just comply and move on to your next project. If the sales drop off, send her an email and offer to put it back the way it was.

Just re-write her ebook, upload it to e-junkie and place the "buy now" links on your lens.

You will also have to re-write your lens a bit so that it does not look word-for-word to her sales page.

yea, that's true, but tell her (especially if you've converted some already) that you'll take your grey area ethical practices to another author's books if she doesn't give you permission.

uptight assholes who actually give a shit about the landing page for sales deserve the flack, but people who act as if they're the author do too... it's not like you're going to give the support or respond the same as her, so she's just protecting her rep, but yea, the page thing is hers to set and she could complain to your affiliate (CB) and get you booted probably and removed from her promotion definitely.

Yeah, I'm getting ticked off just reading about this chick. Screw her. I like the above idea but think you should be more subtle and I think that you might accidentally effect your rankings for that KW if you change the content and go into attack mode. She's obviously watching the SERPs so you don't need to respond to her for her to notice your response.

Instead, simply rewrite the sales page (only slightly, possibly change verb tenses and rearrange phrases - nothing else), keep the same focus on that keyword, and just change the link to a competitor. Also search paydotcom for a similar product. She'll notice the changes immediately and get the message ( ) no need to inform her directly or to bait her to complain to CB.

Geez can't she just be happy you're doing the work for her? I pretty much agree with everyone in saying to promote a competing product.

Sometimes there's no pleasing a vendor. I outranked a vendor for their own product line in the serps and they didn't seem to mind for about six months. All the while I'm sending them nice, juicy, highly targeted sales. Then I stupidly emailed them (basically asking them if they were ever going to pay me) and they pulled all kind of crap about how I wasn't allowed to outrank them! Even though I had written tons of wonderful, carefully crafted articles about their product, how it would improve people's lives, etc. and so on. I told them that everything I had been doing was in service to their brand and it brought them sales. Still they were jerks about it.

And after I stopped promoting them I never received the money due to me. This was a privately run affiliate program. I don't promote those anymore because sometimes it's a ma and pa store that is really uptight about branding control. I didn't do anything wrong, I brought them sales, and still they found a way to screw me.

Authors or creator of the products usually like to get sells but dont like to give commission. The fact is here, not every visitor coming from a affiliate link buy instantly. They may take the purchase decision later and come back later to buy. On that time affiliate dont get any commission still he is the person who made the product renown.

This is the biggest advantage authors get from the affiliates. Anyway, she doesn't like your technique probably because u are making decent commission that she doesn't want to give.

First, I'd realize that MY lens was not done to "pre-sell" her ebook and get people to download the free report and be cut out of commissions.

I'd copy that lens to a NEW lens on a NEW SQUIDOO account.
In fact, I'd bilud ten.
I'd set up a second CB account and change the affiliate links to the new one so as to protect my earnings in my original account...

Then I'd do PPC and drive serious sales ...
