Exclamation Can i copy vendors website as my landing page?

Just now I found a product to promote and wanted to test. So I ripped off the vendors website and use it as my landing page. I have not taken it online just beocs I am afraid whether it is against clickbank TOS

Please some one confirm it...

Good question, a few gurus have been teaching this as a quick way to promote affiliate products by getting a landing page up quick. I know you want confirmation however I doubt this would be against CB TOS however it's definitely a copyright infringement against the site owner.

You could ask for permission or run the gauntlet until you get a cease and desist. Some CB product owners actually provide you with premade templates you can use freely (the smart ones).

I have discussed this with a vendor once and he didn't have a problem as it was his product. So what i would advice is for you to either discuss this with the vendor or if you decide to go ahead without discussing it then make sure you are promoting exactly his product and nothing else.

Good Luck

I just copied the website and I am using it to promote this product. When they click on Download, it goe to clickbank payment page. That is it. Will there be any problem with that?

You're going to lose a very large percentage of conversions if you are trying to make sales by deceiving them into thinking it's a free download than having to pay to get it.

In the page it is clearly said you have to pay. I am not going to do any thing like that.

He's saying if your site is the exact same, and they click the download button just to be sent off to the site that actually sells the product, then why don't you just save them one of those steps and have your domain forward to your affiliate link? And its insanely easy to do and has been said hundreds of times, search feature is your friend.

But here it is different. The vendor has given a link by which when user click on download button in my website, it goes to the clickbank payment page. His website does not come in the middle

More over URL forwarding, if I do that is it against CB TOS?

More over will I get affilate comission?

URL Forward. Most places where you buy your domain name (like Go Daddy) allow you to use your domain to forward to another web address. So you would forward it to the merchants website and include your hop ID as part of the forward. Also remember, that you can do this without having hosting, since the redirect is done by the domain registar. So, you could even buy a cheap $1.00 .info and use it to redirect to the merchant. I would suggest you get a .com though, it might increase clicks. Using a redirect is much better than using a URL shortning service because if you need to, you can redirect your traffic somewere else. So, say the merchant does not pay, you can stop your traffic from going to his page and redirect it to another offer.

So even will the merchant cheat in clickbank with out paying? I never heard of this before
Anyways I will also check the URl forwarding now
Anyways I will be using sub domain of .org.in
Is there any problem?
So will that cost me any bandwidth?
Will that increase my alexa rank?

Note : I tried and found sub domains cannot have url forwarding
More over if I promote in social bookmarking sites, no one is going ot see the url
Then I think I can use co.cc domain
Is there any problem?

UPDATE : I can also use bit.ly
There are many members who use that also
Will that be fine?

Url forwarding is used for many things like CPA. As far as I know you can forward a domain to another sites subdomain.

Don't use a url shortner like bit.ly because you lose control of the traffic you generate.
Say you post in a forum with bit.ly, that post stays around for a long time and sends traffic to your offer. But what if that offer ends or gets old? You would lose all the work you did to get that traffic. Would it not be better to be able to send that trafiic to a new offer? That's what you can do with a domain redirect, traffic comes to the redirect and you can change where the redirect sends people anytime you want.

I'm pretty sure the vendor only really cares about sales. As long as you get him quality sales he really won't care how you did it.

But I tried and I was unable to do URL redirect for my sub domain

I remember reading on a forum a post from a vendor where he was furious that an affiliate had done that- i couldnt really see his problem but he said he was gonna report the aff to their hosting company for plagerism.
Might be better to contact the vendor before doing it or just buy a cheap.info and forward it as many others have already said.

If you direct your copysite to another domain of yours that includes a meta refresh to the vendors site, the vendor will not see that you have copied his site.
