For reasons, I cannot submit my SSN to clickbank, so can I submit a fake one and get paid? By fake, I mean a made up string of numbers that couldn't possibly be a real SSN like 000000000. I mean, of course, I plan to submit my SSN once I make an amount over 600$ that I need to report for taxes, but for a small amount like 100$ will they still send me a check with a fake SSN?

Why don't you submit your SSN now, instead of waiting until you each $600? Care to explain your 'reasons'? As far as I know, faking a SSN is fraud / tax evastion.

Messing around with fake SS#'s is a very very bad idea. If you are that worried about it. Sign up as a friend or family member and give them a small cut.

You'll be amazed at what is classed as illegal. If you find a penny on the floor in the UK, pick it up and don't report it, you can be arrested for 'theft by finding' in the UK. Nuff said.

I think it really depends on your situation if you are not making "big cash" aka under $600 you are doing fine in leaving it blank but if you make more you should invest some money to set up a Corp/LLC with EIN (same like SSN but for companies) or get some us based friend etc...

I don't think so, because im in the United States and they need our tax info to earn a single cent. It was flashing red until I put something there. I guess I won't use clickbank...

You can leave it blank as long as your earned income is below $600, even with the flashing red sign.

Just apply for an EIN and use that. It is simple and you can do it online and obtain it instantly.

Either don't put one in at all or use an EIN.

Putting a fake one is asking for trouble.

All networks will require a ssn or ein number before you will get paid. If you wanna make some cash, be prepared to give your ssn/ein. Also, do not try just entering a string of numbers that is fraud and you will get caught. You may get reported when you try to submit your real ssn after giving fake info in the beginning.

Wow, I am surprised this is even a question. That is nutso to even think about faking a SS#. Get a corp/llc. No way in hell was I going to register with mine to some of the Adult affiliates so I just ran through with my S-Corp tax id

I'd just like to point out that the OP is not talking about faking an SSN. He's talking about communicating to the company that he has no intention of sharing his SSN by putting in a string of zeroes.

My parents, because they're backwards-ass paranoid militia people, do the same thing constantly, and they've never been called on it.

That said, let me enlighten you on the law:

1) It's not illegal for a company to request your SSN.
2) It's not illegal for you to refuse to supply it. Exception: SSN required by federal law.

Federal law requires private businesses to collect your SSN when (1) you are involved in a transaction in which the Internal Revenue Service requires notification, or (2) you are engaged in a financial transaction subject to federal Customer Identification Program rules.

3) It's not illegal for the business to tell you to stuff it and refuse to do business with you until you supply it.

But, in the interest of their bottom line, most businesses are willing to use all-zeroes or all-nines in their records, as a placeholder that says "is paranoid. don't ask." to anyone who sees it.


That said, if you're getting paid more than a very limited amount each year by a given company, it certainly falls under the "IRS requires notification" category.

His first elementary school
The last four of his social

Just go with the EIN, but in all honesty I don't see how your ssn is rejected...

If you use a fake SSN, it has to be somebodies now or later - you will get busted for not only tax evasion, but fraud, ID theft and whatever else they pull out of their butt depending on how ugly or stupid you look as well...

There are loads of people who don't have SSN. I work with some every day of the week. My guess is around 10% of the uS population.
They are sold illegally on Avenida Veinte-Seis. However, that is against the law; I only mention it because I haven't seen anybody notice yet the 30 million or so undocumented people all around us.

I would suggest the Business section of this forum where it was recently shown that a New Mexico LLC could be set up for $92 the first year, then $100 each subsequent year, by following the steps.

Then the EIN as suggested by several others and you're on the up-and-up, and as safe as you're going to get.

If that ain't good enough, try hiring out some services for cash and forget the Clickbank plan until you are ready. How about writing some unique content for people with blogs? There's a huge demand, 1 cent a word.

Why let businesses inform on you? Why be compelled to act as a government informant against yourself? Go the path of least resistance and get an offshore mail address, and sign up for all programs you can under that address; then the online forms will not insist on a SSN in order to be completed. If the sign up form is limited to US participants, or the $600 threshold is going to be reached, use another person's SSN/address for point of contact (with their consent).

EIN is another option, but an arrogant tax gestapo might elect to disregard it, and misapply tax liability to you directly anyway. So the first option is optimal---it's best to NEVER knowingly permit a train of paperwork about you to go to the government in the first place.

ok, "IF" you have an SSN and you use a "FAKE" SSN , and you make money - eventually it will catch up to you....... EIN is a good option ----- DELAWARE, NEVADA I suggest
