I no longer want to use your program and I've sent you a couple emails to cancel my subscription but you don't seem to responsive at all.
Now I've been charged for another month just like I was for the last month (December) and that comes to $92 gone out of my pocket for NOTHING!

I think Soma56 is having some issues atm - if the subscription is with Paypal, just login and cancel it from within there.

Nope, I don't think so. He canceled the subscription promptly after this post. But hasn't yet issued a refund... I'll wait a couple more days... Then I'll have to take the other route to get my money back.

As you may or may not be aware I've been working on a speed bug which has recently been resolved. This has taken up most of my time and as a result my responses via email may not have been as punctual as they traditionally are. Our attention will now be focused on scraping search criteria's that are country specific. The logic here is simple. If we gather major smtp providers from a specific country then it will be safe to assume that the recipient is from that country.

Now that the speed issue is fixed I'm playing a little catch up with emails.

I finally have my copy and here is my situation. I need to extract emails from a trade portal (lets call it sitex.com). Sitex.com is a directory of businesses. The directory is broken down into different categories such as, restaurants, schools, hospitals, etc. I am interested in a particular category say “schools”. I click on the school link and get the list. However, the list has everything except the e-mails, however, most of the schools either have a subdomain, for e.g. “school.sitex.com” or a link to their own site “schoolwebsite.com”. Within the subdomains and the school’s site there is a contact us page with the gold, i.e. the email address. Now, I am only interested in extracting the “school” email addresses from the portal and my keyword is on the subdomain pages, the school site’s pages and certain pages on the trade site, whereas the email address page whilst it’s linked to the subdomain site, doesn’t have the keyword. How do I go about extracting these emails. I am sure with some creativity this powerful best can do this?

I will appreciate any suggestions from the experienced users here.

I have been using this for a couple of days now and here is my review based on what I have tested and seen so far. I am also benchmarking this against GSA E-mail Spider, which I also use.

1. The collection speed is pretty decent and definitely better than GSA, although relative to GSA, there is a major difference in the way it functions. GSA, filters emails while it collects them, i.e. removal of duplicates and you can add filters while you are processing, for e.g. while the emails are being collected, if I see an email with something like @yahoo.cn, I can simply right click and put this domain in filter so no more such emails are collected (I love this feature). I can do the same with a lot of other flters in GSA. With SEE, all the filtering/cleaning is done at the end so the initial numbers seem a lot higher, however, despite that I guess its fair to say SEE has much faster speed.

2. The keyword generator and url extractor, havent worked for me yet, in the 2 days that I have had it. I keep getting the "server busy" error.

3. The biggest problem is that the support is almost non-existent.
- I have contacted the author through every possible channel, i.e. the forum here, the in built contact tool, skype and the email id on the site and still dont have a response.
- There is no support community (which could help users learn, exchange ideas and maximise the use of the tool) which could actually substantially reduce the amount of time the author needs to spend on support as people could help each other.
- Once again, lack of support/response is a real annoying factor and I have to repeat myself on this.

4. It would be nice to have a "Pause" function too, for e.g. when I am taking my laptop from my home to office, I would like to pause the process. Also, a couple of times my computer went to sleep and the process stopped and never continued when It woke up, which means, I had no other option but to restart the process. After disabling the sleep mode, I let my laptop run overnight for collection and it was working fine, when I woke up in the morning, but eventually it got stuck at an email addrses (the program didnt freeze but the process wasnt moving forward) and nothing was happening thereafter so I had to terminate the process, so I never knew if the process was actually completed or not.


5. The other thing, I personally find annoying is that, each time, I have to manually save the search criteria as once you close the tool and re-open it, it defaults back to the default search critera. It would be nice to be able to "permanently save" our own search criteria.

Overall, I am enjoying the tool, but the lack of support is something that I feel is not allowing me to maximise the use of this software.

I agree. It's quite hard to get any response, even if you are trying to buy.

Yes, I got this via email as well. Bit of a mind bender. It can be done but I will have to modify the script. If you recall I’m trying to connect with you via Skype but there seems to be a 10 hour difference. At last standing I’ve asked you to send me the times when you’re available to meet on Skype to discuss a solution.

You have some great points here. As I’ve previously stated I’m trying to connect with you on Skype to offer direct support for your extractions as they more complex then the average user.

Ø I will look into why the keyword generator and url extractor is not working for your account.
Ø A pause feature is something that is on the list of upcoming revisions.
Ø Your suggestion for a way to permantely save the search criteria for each user is a good one. I actually really like that!
Ø I would tend to agree that the support is not 100%. However, the nature of your specific issue is complex and requires a one on one discussion. The 10 hour time frame difference that we have has inhibitet us from connecting As previously stated: the last communication to you (via email) requested that you provide me with the times that you are available throughout the day – and I will make myself available to assist you with your extractions.

SEE doesn’t scrape facebook email accounts hidden by their servers. It scrapes anything publicly displayed. There are hundreds of thousands of them. If a facebook group has 10k members don’t expect to scrape 10k emails. You will, however, be able to use the FB group names as keywords and subsequently scrape these members that post anything publicly. SEE can be used for geo-targeting. There are three videos entitled (on the official SEE youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/socialemailextractor) Extract Emails From Any Country (part 1, 2, & 3) which clearly show you how this is done.

That's the magic question, isn't it. There was an Email Marketing category in this forum which would have pointed you in the right direction, however, it was taken down in the latter part of 2011. Your best bet is to start a thread here to find out what the latest techniques are, however, unless you're a programmer you may find it to be a daunting task.

I just spent 45 minutes setting up my default search criteria, custom lists etc...and then when I clicked on "start extracting", I was asked to login again and lost all the info..extremely frustrating.

I really hope the ability to save your search settings is around the corner. It really is a must have.

Further to my last message, I have just had another experience (which has happened quite a few times now). Without a "Pause" button (which is a basic feature on most good email extractors) I have absolutely no control over my sessions whatsoever. Its like a having a car with no brakes. So everytime, I have to move my laptop between work and office, my session is lost and the next time I restart, I have to go through the entire process again. Secondly, if my computer goes to sleep during the process, the session becomes dead, i.e. even if I bring it back to wake, the session is lost forever. I think these are serious issues, hindering this software's great ability to extract large numbers (so far I havent been able to exceed 50K in a session, due to the above issues). I really really hope a fix is around the corner for these.

would these only work in the "Intelligent Search Criteria" field (with this being enabled), or can I just enable ISC and put these in the "search criteria" field? Is there a reason why there are two seperate boxes for "ISC settings" and the normal settings on the top?

Why is your customer support so bad? Hire some project managers or partner up with people.

You session probably timed out. I wouldn’t advise more then a half an hour between logging in and starting and extraction if you don’t want that to happen again. If it’s something you’ll be doing regularly I’ll be happy to set you up with some sort of special exception for your account.

Car with no brakes – that was funny. A pause button or session 'save' seems to be something that more and more users want to see. That being said I hardily agree as I see how it can be practical after hearing similar scenarios like the one you've laid out. This is a must at this point and I'm glad to say that it will be implemented with the next update in April.

Great question and nice use of the wildcard BTW. They will only work in the “Intelligent Search Criteria” box. This is because the program is trained to take some extra measures when scraping in correlation with the search criteria in the ICS box. If you place them in the regular search criteria box the additional measures requires to ‘decipher’ these emails, which have been intentionally hidden by users will not be, will not take place. If you use a search criteria that is ‘intelligent’ then place it in ICS to be safe. General search criteria can be placed in the original search criteria box.

Hmm. I’m not too sure I understand. SEE can scrape specific domains (if that’s your question). It can also determine emails that have intentionally be hidden by users. So if a user wrote their email like john@:

all i am using right now is a crappy web host emailer that is developed by a guy i know, it is nothing good. it can only send about 10k per day. i am looking for a real good mailing solution now. maybe you can point me in the correct direction? thank you!

After paying 3 subscriptions, I have finally opted out today (still have a month left of usage for the subcription paid today) but I must say out of the 15 or so extraction attempts I have had 3 sessions that produced a decent amount of e-mails all of which eventually froze for one reason or the other.
