So I am 16 and I live in the US as a resident. To be able to sign up for pretty much everything like affiliate sites I need to provide a SSN. I have an SSN but I would rather not give it to any site. Is there a way to go around this like giving them a fake SSN? Would this be considered a criminal offense?

You can't fake an SSN, the affiliate network can see who you are from your SSN. Just use the next 2 years trying to learn affiliate marketing so you will have a good start or just use one of your parents details

Hmm.. I was thinking affiliate marketing was going to be my big break after reading some great guides here. And pretty much every single income source will require some sort of SSN or another. Any other ideas? I was really thinking of joining AFF affiliates and ClickBank.

I've seen some networks pay through paypal and the like without requiring SSN, but generally when the commas start adding on, they'll need some sort of tax info.

Just take the exposure imo. If you trust the company you work for (and you really shouldn't work for someone that you don't trust), then you can trust that they decide to steal your identity. And if they do, cover your bases and prosecute.

I would get an EIN from somewhere like legalzoom and use that instead. Most affiliates won't have a problem with you using an EIN for all the tax documents.
