Need Help Opening an LLC in Nevada
I'm trying to open up an llc in nevada or wyoming or anywhere except new york. I'm looking at some of the online services where they will do it for me.
I don't really know where to start. Anyone have a guide I can look into?
Anyway, how do I set up a mailing address in nevada or wyoming? It seems to be the first road block that I need to get passed. Thanks for any information.

Re: Need Help Opening an LLC in Nevada
Either use delaware or neveada they are the two easiest. Go to one of the states and just follow their instructions. You can hire a local account for 2 or 3 hundred if you can figure out the states instructional guide.

One more thing, does not matter what state you are in. Registering the business is only for the articles of incorporation and to get your ein. What ever state, city you are in you register for sales tax cert. Just use the address you have now.

Re: Need Help Opening an LLC in Nevada
Cool thanks a lot. I'll try and apply on my own.
Just confusing on which address should I put.
I went to delaware and now applying for llc. It tells me to get a FEIN first. I am now applying for a FEIN. I'm at the page where it says
Please select the state/territory where the business is physically located:
according to teamred, I should use my own address which is in New York for the FEIN. Is that right?

Re: Need Help Opening an LLC in Nevada
As a business attorney, I setup Nevada LLCs for customers regularly. It is surprising just how easy it is; there should be a lot of helpful information on the Nevada Secretary of State's website. The fees are not exorbitant, and Nevada has some really nice benefit. As the other person said you will need an address in Nevada or you will have to hire a registered agent. Basically Nevada is nice because the state itself does not have a corporate or individual income tax. Hope this helps, and good luck

Re: Need Help Opening an LLC in Nevada
Try this link http://nvsos.gov/index.aspx?page=428. That is the website for the Nevada Secretary of State. This is the direct webpage to set-up an LLC in Nevada. They will tell you what they need from you, and there might be a guide on there to help you too. As far as getting a Nevada address, try this link http://www.incparadise.net/text/mail-forwarding.htm. They will set you up with a Nevada address, and forward all of your mail and packages to you. I haven't used them before so I can't recommend them, but you can check them out or google "How to get a Nevada Mailing Address."

I live in CA. So, if I set up an address in Nevada, I don't pay any income tax?? Sounds to good to be true.

Just STATE income taxes, Federal is a different story. Basically NV casinos subsidize the taxes for the rest of the state. I believe they do not have property tax either, but I would contact a CPA or attorney that resides specifically in NV for more info.

Re: Need Help Opening an LLC in Nevada
Get a book and read guys, this is nothing to screw around with if you like your house and other things. You need to understand each entity and how they work. Just because you register in another state does not mean that you do not have to pay taxes. If you live in another state and do business in that state then you have to register as a foreign entity and pay taxes on all business within that state.
I don't really like Robert Kiyosaki but the book Own Your Own Corporation is a good one that was written by a lawyer in laymans terms that give you an idea of how this all works. Registering in Nevada or Delaware is not always the best way to go.
