Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
Does any one know of a cost effective way to setup offshore account and a company. We need somewhere to funnel money into another account offshore. I'm looking for somewhere that will keep our personal information secure

Re: Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
If your profits are at least half a milli annually its feasable, if not you have to find a solid accountant locally.
Offshoring means allot of bribing.

What are you talking about. We are talking about offshore corporations and bank accounts?

Re: Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
It really depends on the purpose in which you want the account. I have an account overseas, but the reason I was able to do so is that the business was also set up in the country in which the business bank account was established. And it was a new business, so the profits weren't anywhere near half a million, but setting it up was pretty easy. We pay taxes in the country that we have the account and business set up in, so I'm not sure that you are really looking for a setup similar to mine if your goal is to avoid taxes. Setting up the corporation was really simple and done online within a few minutes.

@sbella How did you open your account ? Did you travel through USA to do it ?
Is it possible to get a mail box from out the country and get the mail redirected to my country ?

Re: Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
Abysse, we called the bank and they sent papers to our e-mail. Along with the account set up papers, we also had to have two forms of I.D. notarized and mailed back to the bank. The bank sends our statements and everything else to our address in the USA which is the one they have on file for us.
The company that we set up our business through offered us a registered address. We pay a yearly fee for it and they forward any mail we receive to our USA address. If you want the specifics, you can send me a PM.

Did you have someone online do this for you? Or did you just contact the bank for you. I'm looking for a place to setup an account where we don't have to pay taxes on the money if we are in the US. You know where it's not taxable for x amount of years.

Re: Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
We did everything ourselves.
As far as setting up the bank - we found the banks info online then gave them a call. They then sent the paperwork to our e-mail and let us know what they needed from us to process our application. We just returned everything back to them and they took care of the rest.
As far as setting up the corporation, we did that too. It was also done online. It took about 5-10 minutes. About 48hrs later, we got our paperwork in our e-mail (memorandum, certificate of incorporation, etc).
It was actually a very simple process for us.

Re: Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
We went through @UKplc and they're very reliable. Not really sure which countries you can form a corporation in through them, but there are many other companies out there too that will do the same thing.

Re: Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
sbella,
I've just joined the forum so I can't PM you yet. I'd really appreciate it if you could PM me with the incorporator you used and the US bank you called.
Was the incorporator located in the US? If not where? And, is it difficult to incorporate a LLC. I've heard that forming an LLC in Delaware is the best option. Would you have any advice on this?
Also, and very importantly, should I get a US company I want a US business bank account.
You said you were able to phone the bank and just providethe information they required and you the the account. I've been finding this the really hard part to understand. It seems everywhere I look on the internet, everyone says it's impossible for non-US residents to get US accounts.
It would be great if it is possible ot open a bank account without having to go to the States.
I've paid WorldWideBrands $300 as I dream of having an online retail store selling to the US. Wish I'd found this forum before though. The dropship section is awesome - I could have saved myself $300, lol

Re: Setting Up Offshore Bank and Company?
Just to clarify, I am from the USA. My business and my bank account are in another country, so I don't know if I would be of much help to you. We would have had a lot of trouble opening our account had our business not been established in the same country we opened our account in. I'm not sure of what rules and regulations American banks have. Sorry. But we used @UKPlc to set up our corporation and our registered office.

It might help if you can let us know what is it for. For asset protection and to avoid taxation, HK is your best bet.
