I need some advice and suggestions on the best place to perhaps find a buyer for my business.
I have been selling large lots of inventory online for mainly over $100,000 per deal and some deals being over $200,000 per deal. I have enough inventory to sell another 40 to 50 deals like that (approximately 2Million items). I also have a penny auction website that would suit this inventory greatly. I am willing to sell the inventory and the site for $500,000. I am dealing with some family and personal health issues that deserves my attention.

The website is up but I am not trying to do anything with it as it is a 2 feet in or none at all scenario. I figured the price at $500,000 should be attractive to get a buyer to pull the trigger. Just need to find someone with that kind of coin available. Any suggestions is appreciated already.

As strange as it might be try contacting a business broker. They are all over and though they are use to dealing with a brick and mortar business they have to be dealing with online stuff now.

It comes all down to someone who has a buyer. There are a ton of tire kickers out there. I priced this for pennies on the dollar to make it easier to get a quicker deal

Not entirely true. While "standard" business brokerage and online business brokerage are very similar in many ways, there are specific nuances to selling online businesses and, while most brokers would obviously be happy to list your site for sale, it's very likely that they will not be able to secure a quick deal or reach a high enough price, simply because they have limited experience in this area.

Another bunch of people to beware of are wannabe website brokers - they're springing up like mushrooms after a rainy day. If you get approached (or indeed approach) a broker then as the very first thing you should ask them to show you a clear track record. If they give you some bs about their deals being confidential, etc. then close the door and walk away. Every reputable broker who actually knows what they're doing is more than willing to demonstrate their track record, and a successful track record is the best guarantee you can get that the broker is capable to handle the sale of your business.

Yes I have had some stop by already. I have been very detailed, told them what to do and not to do. Who are my ideal buyers and who will not be my buyer and they ignore what I say..... Tire kickers, broke jokes, and want a be brokers need not apply.
