I have not yet applied for the credit card but soon want to be. I just found out on some sites that mastercard secure code and visa code is enabled on most of teh cards. These services makes temporary card numbers with some unique login. Is it true ? I heard this about HDFC and Kotal secure code cards which are available for 48 hours condition for all debit, credit and gift cards. I could be wrong with this, so please correct me.

So if i want to sign up for amazon S3 service or rackspace hosting with monthly recurring billing, is it possible to use credit cards from india ? or we're not allowed to use the cards for recurring billing. Is it true ?

How indian IM'ers are using credit cards or any other way for recurring monthly billing for online services ?

I am using HDFC Netsafe cards and you can use them as Real CC's
and about recurring billing it will be cancelled automatically as these Vcc's are for 1 time use only.

So which sevrice or bank card to use for recurring billing ? i mean you can't use VCC like HDFC for hosting or backup service cause if they try to auto-renew each month it and failed, account may get closed. Of course there are annual payments but slicehost type hosts and backup service restrict users for monthly billing. And keeping tab of the renewal of more than 5 of such online service like domains, hosting, backups from different sites is not easy.

So any idea for recurring billing ?

You can't really use these anywhere.. I used to have both Kotak and HDFC and I have used HDFC 100ths of times but then it got stuck while making payments over paypal many a times..

Your best bet will be to get a real CC. These VCC's are abused to death for various BH methods so most of the online payment methods who found these ranges have already banned such VCC's.

Get a Platinum account with HDFC and they give you some other VCC Range.

Yes I'm using real CC was not sure about Platinum thing.. I'm also a classic bank account holder.. will ask bank manager abt it.

you asked a valid query. Recurring billings on real CC works and when you authorize first payment with that particular service with secure code you have authorized that service to charge recurring billings on that card.
