Hello fellow BHWers,

I am an independent contractor who provides content writing and SEO services to small businesses. Until recently, I did my business using PayPal, but due to the new Paypal Regulations, users in India have been levied the following limitations.

Any balance in and all future payments into your PayPal account may not be used to buy goods or services and must be transferred to your bank account in India within 7 days from the receipt of confirmation from the buyer in respect of the goods or services; and

Export-related payments for goods and services into your PayPal account may not exceed US$500 per transaction.

This is a serious problem since it potentially might stop my income stream altogether. For other people located in India who are doing business with clients from abroad, how do you guys accept payments? Paypal? Google Checkout? Others?

Please help me out.

Thanks in advance.

you can still accept money from International clients.
For Indian clients, give them your banking info.

To send money, just attach your credit card to the account.

All problems solved :)

Try xoom , they have good good dollar conversion rates than paypal. Also xoom provides lot of transfer methods. You can tell your clients to send directly to your bank account you can get within 1 day to your bank account. Also there is Cash pickup facility , You can collect money from Any Punjab national bank branches all over India within same day. Xoom having tie up with PNB bank. First register there & give all info to your clients. Lets check out it worked for me.

"I dont understand why Paypal behaving like this to common peoples, Go to big Fraud Peoples who having their lot of money in swiss bank. Why Indian Gov. Supporting paypal to block common ppls like us."

Thanks.

Thanks guys!

johnwarren12 , So I just need to make sure that international clients don't send me more than $500 per transaction then? And as soon as they do, see that the money doesn't stay in my PayPal account for more than 7 days (transfer it to my account), yes? I do have my credit card attached to the account.

What happens if I am away for a while, and a client sends me a payment that I am unable to withdraw from PayPal for more than a week? :D

I read somewhere that it automatically goes to bank account (if there's one attached to the account)
