Covering my ass

Hey guys.

I'm involved in the branding of a really sweet social bot, but I'm worried about the legality of the situation.

Both the bot creator and I live in the states and this particular social network is known to be VERY cut-throat.


How do we protect our asses?

Do I need a NM LLC? An offshore corp + bank account?

Offshore hosting?

I know a lot of you guys have experience with this sort of thing. We're both pretty young and getting in trouble is the last thing on our minds.

Methods aside - at the end of the day, that old adage of risk assessment rings true - if you can't afford to do the time, etc. Sure - you may well through luck or technique get away with this. But if you don't, make sure you have thought about the consequences, and are prepared to accept them. Ye gods I sound almost as old as Boatsy.

Off shore is a must, however, all they have to do is follow the money trail back to you. Thats the tricky part.

Offshore company + offshore bank account + debit card without trailing logs.. however, as a US citizens you will find it very complicated and almost impossible to open any bank account offshore most countries have banned new accounts for the US.

try a ofshore account in places like switerland as there are different rules and the rich usual put there money there but if you are doing something wrong then eventually you will get caught it make take a bit longer

Just do everything on services outside of the jurisdiction of the US...
