Is This Copyright Infringement?

I thinking of putting a nice video compilation on my site. But would this creat copyright troubles?

For example I have a basketball site and I have a NBA highlight reel or something for promotion.

Would this give me some legal troubles?

I think you should be alright as long as you dont rip someone else's work completely without altering anything. If you do, as long as you do one of toughs "all rights reserved" things you should be alright. However that's my opinion and id seek better thoughts.

Technically yes you could get in trouble. I heard that NY Giants Girl got sued over just wearing NFL merchandise in some of the pictures in her website. But realistically the chances of it happening are almost zero. In life I have posted so much copyrighted shit on my sites its not even funny. And I have yet to get an inquiry, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Technically, yes...but the most trouble you'd get is probably a DMCA takedown notice, if that. By law they can't really sue you under the DMCA unless you ignore a proper takedown notice, and you live in a country with arcane copyright laws, such as the USA.
