there are no adsense, no affiliate selling, they are using other people's content and there are no links that I could see that seem to be linked.

What is the point of these blogs? what are they achieving? pl. enlighten.

Well, there are a high percentage of people who use the internet without the aim to make money or are just not interested. Just some use of self expression, journalism work, hobby i.e.
