Work on WP on local pc and upload later?

So I have a bunch of WP sites. I drive a taxi. As I am on the road there are sometimes hours where I sit in the taxi doing dick all..

I have an android tablet that only works on wifi. IS there a way I could work on my wp sites like a local copy on the android tablet then upload the changes later?

Also...does anyone know what in shit happened to the user cp button? I can't figure out an easy 1 click to get to my threads from the main BHW index page.

I just tried the official wordpress app in airplane mode it works fine offline.
 
Some people are nice and see a post and say to themselves " hey I know just what this guy is looking for let me recommend something I have used in the past to him" Others see a post on a forum have no idea what the answer is and decide to be dicks and link you to a google search.

I wasn't being sarcastic, my links were helpful. Your post was very rude and presumptuous.
 
why dont you get mobile/usb sick internet?i pay less than $10/month for 10mb unlimited mobile internet
 
take a look at xampp / lampp - it's built for linux (never used an android tablet so that's a stretch), but it's an apache / php set that you can run on a home computer (I was looking into this once but not for a tablet) - there may be some sort of mod out for android, or if it's that important you could always pick up an old laptop for the same purpose.

Other thing that's possible is just getting an external keyboard for the tablet and getting task-specific work (ie article writing) done while out and about.... I got a bluetooth keyboard for the iphone, and if I'm somewhere for 30 minutes I can bang out a few rough copies....

You linked me to two loosely related Google searches. Wicked Helpful bro. The neg rep you gave me was even more helpful. Now I am sure I am not going to buy your overpriced links. Again you had no actual experience with what I was seeking. Why would you respond to the thread at all? Oh I know.. the Donor status you purchased allows you to put a footer link so you respond to as many threads as you can. Nice one bro. At least be honest about being an unhelpful spammer.

I`ll check into that thanks. I am just looking for something simple that I can work on my WP sites sort of in "airplane mode" then have the information update when I hit a connection.

Whoever posted the 10 MB USB stick idea I appreciate the advice but do you have any idea how small 10mbs is? I would burn through that in a day or so.
 
I have a similar situation as you and live in the Boston area, as well. In my downtime, I tether my cell to my netbook and voila! Usually I can get 4 G which really helps but the 3 G works too.

I'm not sure if this would be an option for a tablet though. Good Luck...

if you want to write posts, check out windows live writer (or look for an alternate for a tablet)

what specifically do you want to do to "work" on your sites? design? wordpress coding?

with wordpress, most of the changes like changing the features of a plugin interact with the database, so you'd need a live connection I think... maybe you could change around a few files and run them to see how it looks, but then I'm not familliar with how you'd sync those changes back to the database...
 
If you have a smartphone just set up a wifi hotspot/tethering? If not then USB 3G sticks are reasonably priced in the UK, although I know you guys get ripped for mobile stuff in the states but I'm sure you'll get more like 1/3GB a month for $20 or so.
 
I think you can do this. but not sure dude. i saw some people talking about this issue in the wordPress forum. You can check them out.
 
well for android i do not know any but if you want to work offline on your computer and than upload intsall microsoft web matrix it lests you install wordpress and work offline on the websites and than upload them with filezilla. Hope this is helpfull

I switched to metropcs a while back because the service coverage is pretty good and you can't beat the price. However they only broadcast 1g and 4g and you gotta have a 4g phone of course. I just saw that they have 4g phones now. I am going to see if I buy one ($200-400) If I can tether something to it.

You have no idea bro..ripped does not do it justice. Balls deep ass RAPED by a gang of rabid HIV+ gorillas is more like it.

I think you can get prepaid for $60 a month if you have the right phone and you get 2gigs before you get limited.

I just realized that the thing I want to do most I will have to wait on until I get a connection. I have a tube site (porn of course) and I never wrote detailed keyword rich descriptions of every video and tagged them. If I did like 20 a day I would be done in a month and I think anything rich in content with no backlinks will rank now.
