Better safe than sorry, right? Personally, I could care less about actual traffic to my blog network sites.. their only purpose is for link juice.
Yeah well this network is really for traffic. So i want a quality tracker in there...i really prefer to use Analytics but i guess i'll skip then...

How about using a third party tracker for stats? I haven't used any to recommend; but you may want to check out these open source options:

You would most definitely want to avoid google analytics on your blog network.
