Default Basic Wordpress Question

I want to have a page on one of my blogs go directly to an affiliate site. Is this possible? In other words, can I simply redirect or somehow link a page tab to something off my own site? Sort of like a link?

In CPanel you can do this (if that's what you're using). Click on Redirects and redirect any page you want from there. It doesn't even matter what script you're using CPanel has the ultimate power. Most major hosting control panels have a similar option.

What I would do is edit the, usually header.php (or wherever the bit you want to add the affiliate link to is) page in dreamweaver and edit the link to the website there by using basic HTML code, <a href.. >. You need to know where to put it, it will depend on the template. If you want I can post a screenshot.

vze2, what's that thing about re-directs? What CPanel is that ?

That's the strange part, I use cpanel extensively. The problem Im having is this: I create a new page on wordpress, call it "page 3". But it's not like a typical situation where there's a subdirectory called "page 3". If you click on the link to page 3 it takes you to mybog dot com/?page_id=15

If I try to do a redirect on that, it always winds up redirecting the entire site.
???
Any suggestions would be great. I'm not real familiar with wordpress.

if you already know how to do this from cpanel for a directory eg ww.blog.com/page3

and what you have now is ww.blog.com/?page_id=3

then simply change you permalink structure from the options panel. i always use the custom feature and set my permalinks to " /postname/" this will make a blog post show up as ww.blog.com/name-of-blogpost and same for pages. now all you do is create a page called page3 and redirect that whole direcotry using the method you normally use, should work

search for a redirect plugin. it allows you to take a page or post, and send it anywhere you want (via your affiliate link if needed)
