"Unique Article" for static Homepage, and "RSS Feed Articles" for Categories?

Hi everyone

In need of experienced opinions;


My question is about how to structure a mixture of unique content
articles along with articles injected by an rss feed - on a WP affiliate site/blog?

Simple blog - homepage (about, privacy, contact) and about 5 Categories


I noticed that on a WP blog I purchased,
it's structured in the following manner:

The blog's unique articles are "static" and fixed on the "home page" - about ten articles

While the "RSS feed articles" are relegated to posts within their respective categories...

Is this a standard way in which unique content and articles feeds are
generally structured when used on the same (affiliate) site?
