Pay Pal buttons on Word Press not happening
Hey all! I didn't know Word Press strips out Pay Pal buttons and e-mail forms. Part of my tricky probelm is, I have custom Pay Pal buttons and a custom cart for MP3 downloads, so the method of creating buttons with your e-mail address is not an option. Any plug ins or advice? I need some type of plugin where I can just copy in my buttons and have them display and work properly.
Thanks!

Re: Pay Pal buttons on Word Press not happening
You will not be able to RELIABLY put code like that in the WP WYSIWYG editor. Either it will work temporarily... or it will be 'stripped out' the next time the page/post is edited.
What you need to do is create (or have someone create for you) a page template. Simply edit that page template using notetab through your ftp.
Google 'creating custom page template in WordPress'. There are many resources on how to do it... or just post a job somewhere.
Good luck.

Yeah as far as I was aware, wordpress (the free blogs at least) definately don't let you accept any payments. Best of luck finding a solution though.

Re: Pay Pal buttons on Word Press not happening
Thanks Jake. Would that just work for pages, or posts too? I thought the buttons and e-mail forms were working, but now they're not. I don't know why so many people are so crazy for WP. HTML is actually easier, and more reliable.
I have html sites, with blogs attached. I have the blogs auto feeding Facebook and Twitter, with, among article feeds, discount codes for the MP3s, so I thought, why not make it easy for folks, and put in the Pay Pal buttons? I figured, people are coming in from Facebook and Twitter to blog posts, put the Buy It Now there.
If I get a solution, I'll pass it along.

Are you guys saying ALL WP sites or just the ones hosted at wordpress.som (i.e. not what I host on my own domain.)
I've never seen this.

Trust me... WordPress rocks. We use it on hundreds of websites. There is NOTHING that we cannot do inside of WordPress. I would give some links to show, but I don't have a high enough post count to do this.
For those who suggest not using WordPress... you are missing out on a literal 'marketers' dream' CMS. There are thousands of plugins that make WP better for SEO (when used properly) than simple HTML sites. The fact is... even for one-page sites... I go to the trouble to put them in WP.
Once a site is in HTML... it does not take long to convert it to WP if you know what you are doing.
I suggest Googling what you want to find out and disregarding any post/answer that is more than 12 months old because many of the older WP issues are solved now.
We have executed all kinds of php inside of WP. That are plugins that facilitate this, but sometimes they are not reliable. Better to create custom page/post templates and use them when using php. However, most forms and buttons work in sidebars and posts... so not really sure what the problem is.
Best solution is to hire the fix out at vworker, elance, odesk or similar site and watch what they do to fix it.

Re: Pay Pal buttons on Word Press not happening
Actually, I found this post, and it's a plugin that works, WP Simple AdSense Insertion: http://techcosupport.com/press/quick...-in-wordpress/ Other AdSense insertion plugins will work too.
Simple only has space for 4 things, so I'm successfully using it for posting my e-mail list forms. I contacted the creator of my custom Pay Pal cart (Bytes Interactive, A+ Download cart) and he can revise it easily to create WP buttons. I have probably 100 items, so that's probably the best solution. So, yeah! Monetized auto-blogs auto-feeding Twitter and Facebook!

Re: Pay Pal buttons on Word Press not happening
Wordpress most definitely works with paypal buttons. You can even add php to a post after installing a plugin. Try using just the html mode in the WYSIWYG editor instead of the visual editor.

Re: Pay Pal buttons on Word Press not happening
I do use HTML instead of visual, but it still messed up the buttons. Apparently, it's a pretty common problem. Also, I think it will go once, but if you edit it, it will get messed up, and I have these rolling around with a reposting widget. Anyways, the Simple Adsense Insertion plugin is displaying the Pay Pal buttons perfectly, as well as my e-mail forms.
