Default Wordpress Multisite or standalone installs?

I have a number of different Wordpress blogs on different domains all on the same host, each with their own MySQL database.

I'm moving hosts and getting everything setup. I know that since Wordpress 3.0 there's been a Multisite features and I wondered if any of the major bloggers were using it. Anybody got experience with it and know any of the pros or cons?

Disk space is cheap though, so I don't have a problem with separate installs. It probably even makes moving individual sites easier since there'd be no messing about with plugin configuration.

The other thing I was curious about - assuming I use standalone installs - is whether or not to use separate MySQL databases, or just one database with table prefixes. What do you guys do and why?

I like to keep different DB for different domains.
    Its easy to manage.
Also each site have their own set of plugins and customizations. So seprate DB is a good choice.

Disk space is penny cheap. So I see no harm in that.
    Why is the rum gone?

Simply put.... Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Biggest problem I see with WPMU is if someone hacks you then all your sites are vulnerable not just one.

    HI there,

    The multi-site all the way.

Easy to manage, easy to backup, easy to restore.

Seriously, I suggest you to opt for Multi-site (Network) it's is really powerful.
