What is a 'hostname'?

When i try to update plug ins on wordpress, on my 000webhost site it comes up with an error, what do i use as the 000webhost hostname?

edit: nvm let this thread die, i just checked out the ftp details.. its simply the name of my site wakkaoaka.com

third and final edit lol. Got it sorted yay! i forgot that my wp-admin user name is different to my ftp user name, at first when i tried the correct ftp username it said it couldnt connect, tried again and it worked. Im like a baby when it comes to hosting and ftp and all that jazz... must, learn :>

sounds like it's looking for the MySQL hostname or something. Often times it's simply "localhost", but my hosing account is "mysql.myhostingcompany.com", so you would really have to check with them.

well wkaoka, you should chmod it to 777. that's could be done in simple fireftp. a firefox addons.
