Is blogging dead?

Is it still as profitable as it used to be? Is it worth pursuing?

I was wondering because I own a popular blog that Ive just left without writing a new post for over two months and Im not sure if I should return to it. Im still getting consistent traffic from it without doing anything (thank you SEO ) but dont know if I should go back because I have zero inspiration to write anything.

P.S: By blogging I mean blogging, not autoblogging.

Not sure what you mean by "dead"... your blog sounds like it is dead at the moment.

I think you dont know the potential a BLOG with descent traffic has.

I know my blog has potential (Im ranking for some big keywords) that get me 1k-2k consistently everyday. Its just that Im not inspired to write even though I love the topic of the blog.

Do you know of any good ways to get inspired?

yeah, you don't make sense, you say you have your blog has traffic, and you say you are interested in the traffic, if you are interested in it's traffic then keep it alive, keep it working, and you don't have to write long post, you can write a 50 word essay about some others blog and then link it to them. You don't need inspiration to write, you can converse with your visitors, write a post for them to read. if you care for your blog, then you will care for your visitors, it's them that's giving traffic to your site. That way people will still think your blog is active.

RSS is dead. Blogs are dead. The web is dead.

Dead means that they are no longer interesting to the drive-by technorati. Dead means that the curiousity factor has been satisfied, that people have gotten the joke.
These people rarely do anything of much value, though.
Great music wasn't created by the first people to grab an electric guitar or a synthesizer. Great snowboarding moves didn't come from the guy who invented the snowboard... No one thinks Gutenberg was a great author, and some of the best books will be written long after books are truly dead.
Only when an innovation is dead can the real work begin. That's when people who are seeking leverage get to work, when we can focus on what we're saying, not how (or where) we're saying it.
The drive-by technorati are well-informed, curious and always probing. They're also hiding... hiding from the real work of creating work that matters, connections with impact and art that lasts. I love to hear about the next big thing, but I'm far more interested in what you're doing with the old big thing.

It's dead for those who use sub-quality autoblogging software (I mean those "everyone have" premium plugins that even do not spin the syndicating content) and not smart enough to make their blogs unique.
