I've been using CTR theme for every single MFA site I have but I am just curious as to whether anyone else is using it on all their sites.

It is a great theme in general but isn't it a footprint to Google? Can't Google go to your blog and say "Wow, kid is running CTR theme. Let's deindex the website".

What does everyone think of using CTR theme?

From my experience, CTR theme is great to boost clicks and revenue, but generally my site traffic decreases and on a couple of occasions my ranking has dropped.

There is actually a thread here where a member did a case study, although I've forgotten the name.

The best bet is to try and test for yourself. Only then you will know what's best for you!

I use it and yes it is an effective theme. I don't think unless G does a LOT of manual review that a foot print from it will be a problem. I could be wrong but I think there algo will just see it as any other popular theme such as TwentyEleven.

If the layout of your website encourages people to pay more attention to the Adsense ads than your content, then it is very possible that when you reach a certain level of revenue that is enough for a manual website review to take place, they will ban the website from Adsense or disable your Adsense account.

Sometimes more clicks (higher CTR) doesn't necessarily mean higher revenue. Google displays Adsense ads with the highest paying ads relevant to the content of the page.

If you have 3 Adsense blocks displaying 3 text ads each (say, 9 ads varying from $1 RPC to $2 RPC), the RPC on individual ads differ. Where if you have only 1 Adsense block displaying a total of 3 text ads each, the RPC on these ads may only vary from say, $1.75 to $2 RPC.

Usually, statistically speaking, more ads means lower average RPC.

With the right optimization, you will get higher CTR with less ads. Hence higher RPC, higher revenue, and less risk of having your website being identified as MFA sites.

I have had one site deindexed which had the CTR Theme on it. Unfortunately i had only one site with that theme so i can not tell if google did a bigger slap on sites using it.

One of my site was de-indexed yesterday, it is using the CTR theme. Can not tell for sure but looks like somehow a manual review was triggered.

I read that the owner of ctr theme was trying to sell the site on flippa. Do you guys know if the theme is still being supported? Thought about getting it but when i read that I was put off. Rather not buy a theme that won't get future updates.

I was ganna buy it, but i have 10% ctr with a simple free theme so why bother
