Alright, first off, this is DAMN urgent so please do not just ignore it lol.

Just got an email from my host that they have taken down that site cause it was using more resources than allowed on a shared hosting. I talked to them and now only I can access the site (they did it with WAN IP thingy).

Gotta backup all my stuff before I shift over to VPS. I know it can be done with MySQL and FTP etc but I was wondering if there is some kinda tool/scrip which could clone a WP blog with all plugins, themes and their respective settings?

This is damn urgent so please suggest me some!

Backup Buddy is my choice.

If you have a "cPanel" just make a back "gz" file...

At the moment, the best way is to use the "Export" in WP and then just transfer your plugins and site files.

Yeah but I have done hell lot of customization and work on that one. If i export the wp xml file, it will only export the posts. FTP will get me the themes etc but my customization will go in toilet.
Also, if I move through ftp, I think my login info etc will be lost unless I export and import the MySQL database associated with that blog.

The export feature has a file size limit...

In cPanel you can just create a full backup. Log into the new cpanel and restore using the gz backup file. Easiest method ive ever used..


I here backupbuddy works but I have no personal exp with it.

wptwin will do exactly what you want. clone the entire site exactly as it is. takes about 2 minutes.

This happened to my site as well. I just went and changed the hosting. Might want to keep a check on the rankings before and after the switch though.

This is just what the doctor ordered. Does this clone the MySQL tables as well? If it does this will be a cake walk to use, if not how do I copy the MYSQL files and tables to use on another site or to use as a backup?
