Default Blog Mainly Composed of YouTube Videos

I have this website. I update it regularly, almost everyday. Each post has a YouTube video in it together with more or less a 300 word post. The videos are of the same theme. I just grab the embed code and place it together with the post.

My question is, is this potential trouble? I mean, can I get sued for it? I don't claim to own the videos. SHould I put some sort of disclaimer?

What are the potential problems? Thanks!

You should be fine, assuming you are using the embed code that YouTube itself gives out.

You might run into a problem just because all you are doing is making a site full of embedded videos from YouTube, but I doubt it. Also, a disclaimer would probably alleviate you of any legal problems as well.

Copyright laws are always in a state of flux, but as long as you aren't stealing copyrighted material or taking videos and re-uploading as your own then you have no problem.

I am doing the same on one of my blogs, however the youtube videos are mine that I upload on my account.

I highly doubt you will get in trouble for putting youtube links into your website, there are so many people who past youtube videos on forums/sites/blogs. Gaming industry is a perfect example, same videos get's posted to various sites.

Link your DMCA statement to Youtube reporting. You are a Youtube publisher via the embed code. THEY are the one that offered it for share. You may get a notice via your url or whois. Just remove vids upon request and they will (no promises) bother you. I would avoid full length movies and TV episodes with so little track coverage however.

    What do you mean issues?
If people could get sued for sharing Youtube videos,
then why the fuck Youtube even put the "embed" option
    in the first place? LOL.

Thanks! I figured that it's okay since it's their embed code. So I figured that if the video itself violated something, it will be taken down and it won't be shown on my site anymore.

Noob question - will it affect my bandwith? I mean, I'm not really uploading anything. They're just embedded.

Found the DMCA disclaimer. I just copied it from another blog who shared it.

I see no problem with that. But keep it perfectly legit by using the code provided by Youtube and I don't think there should be any problems.

There is an embed button for a reason,But if your doing something like Movie Trailers or Music Videos, then embed from a source that was authorized to use it.

So it didn't work for you? I don't have Adsense on that video blog. Plus I'm okay right now with Panda, being on the first page for two competitive keywords.

Were you adding unique content? I add at least a 200 word post per post. They're unique.
