weird wordpress error -

can anyone please help me.some of my posts in my wordpress are showing weird signs all of a suden from past 5-6 days or so .the sign is �

this sign is inserted in random places within some of the posts (not all) i dunno how to get rid of this..i could delete one by one but it would take me 2-3 days to delete all. any idea whats wrong.i will be very thankful

Are you writing in English or another charset? It looks like an encoding problem.

i see UTF-8 in encoding.i think this is the default one.....i m usign english only.neverthless i used fidn and replace that special character with space.was foolish not to think about this previosuly

Do you write the post yourself or do you copy/paste it from other source?
And what plugins are you using?

if ur using an automating plugin then it's more likely its the main reason.

i m not using auto blog plugins....hmm had a word with my host.he is trying hard . encoding issue perhaps (duno much abt this)

Definitely an encoding problem...usually it is a copy/paste of an existing post that contains either 'smart' apostrophes or quotes...save the text as UTF-8 and then repost.
