Hey all,

Although I have an account on Hostgator with unlimited websites, I'm actually starting to get enough traffic that I don't want to start bumping up against their 25% CPU usage rules.

So, I was looking to open up another account with them to put up some more sites. I know they allow you to do this, but my question is, has anyone done this and has it caused any problems?

I'm not looking for a debate on how good or bad Hostgator is, I've used them for 3 years, and loved their service, I just need to know if anyone has experience with using multiple accounts, or has a better idea on what I should do, to make sure I don't start having website issues...

Thanks

I'd just signed up with Hostgator for a second account. They moved a good site for me off Dreamh to this new account. Very good service. Just don't bother to have autoblogs on DreamH cos they will find excuses to cap your backends and you end up not being able to do anything there.

i hold two accounts with them.

But i paid for both the accounts using VCC, so the details were different.
No problems.

I don't think they mind multiple accounts. I had 3 shared accounts with them for over 3 years. All paid with the same CC. I merged into one VPS.

you can have as many accounts with them as you want. If you are planning on doing any interlinking between sites though I would recommend getting your second account on sehosting, their sister company. This way you get the separate class c ips.

I looked at their sister program and it seems like their pricing was kind of steep, no?

They don't have any problem with multiple account unless you'll use your ref link on other accounts.

I have three hosting packages all in the same account.

1.Shared hosting

2.Reseller hosting

3.VPS

They have no trouble with this at all.

I'm confused as to why people open new accounts with different details, just seems pointless to me.
