what is the different between pages and post. how does one help or harm my sites seo. which should i stick with when adding content to my wp.

Posts are more for temporary items that will show chronologically on your site. Pages should more properly be used for a permanent "page" of your site. Things like "About", "Contact", "Disclaimer", etc are good use of pages. Also things like Landing "Pages", or anything that will probably remain static on your site and that you would like users to have access to from you menu.

BTW - You are wise to figure out how you are going to structure your pages & posts before you set up your blog. It is difficult to change later.

Unless I am wrong, it appears to me that Google treats individual posts like they are pages.

I'm under the assumption Google doesn't care if it's a post or a page (if the URL structure is the same). Only WordPress cares and addons within WordPress that target either one or the other instead of both.

All above are correct, I just would like to add that you can use tags with posts and Google does see the difference - I have posts pages with 100-150 words that are doing very well while google looks for more content in regular pages.

so your advice is to have few pages and more posts so that i dont over work myself on every content i post?

i was also think that i add like ten pages, then use my post to build internal links to the pages....will this be beneficial to seo ?

will be waiting for your response blackhatters
