1) What is the best way to create more then one wordpress blog? Like I said I want to start with 5 and work up from there. Can you host multiple word press blogs on a Hostgator account? And after I get the 5 up and running should I double or triple that number in a week or so?

Hi,
I believe you can have as many blogs as your hosting package allows on h0stgat0r.
You can either:
a) Use Fantastico (you can find that in cpanel) to install blogs in subdirectories or subfolders in your main domain. (e.g. YourDomain.com/blog01; YourDomain.com/blog02 etc...)
b) i. If you have a shared hosting account, buy 4 (or whatever number) additional domains and plug them in cpanel as add-on domains. Same deal as (a) with installing the blogs. Use Fantastico to install them in the add-on domains, which look like subdirectories/subfolders under your main domain's public_html folder.
ii. If you have a reseller account (woo hoo

), you can even buy 4 (or whatever number) additional domains and give them each their own cpanel. In each of the 4 domains' cpanel, you can then use Fantastico to install the blog in either the public_html folder, or again, in a subdirectory of subfolder.

Just my 2 cents worth... but perhaps it might be good to get some traffic to the blogs that you've installed first, before creating a gazillion number of blogs but with little or no traffic?
It might also be good to get some web2.0 sites (e.g. squid00, m yspa ce, hu*bp*ages etc.) or accounts that link back to your blogs.
Also, it might not necessarily be good for your blogs to link excessively to each other, even if their contents were pretty similar or related. If their content were vastly different, then you might NOT want to link them with each other at all, perhaps.
Lookin' forward to hearing other folks' input on this, cos we're all here to learn
Cheerio.
