Even though I like humortimes more than laugh real, due to it being more brandy, I do realise that .com is going to be more powerful, in the long run. Because when people go word of mouth and say, "hey dude, go visit humortime, it makes me LAWL!", the recipient will probably type in
www.humortime.com, rather than .net, and thus you lose out on that divisions of visitors.
Or a guy that came visit your site yesterday, wanted to recheck today, and goes "Hmm..what's that website again? Oh yeah humortime" , inputs in humortime.com, and finds your competition's site, which might be much better than yours. He will then go tell his friends about humortime.com, and cascade from there, making your lost exponential.
