WP Easy noob question

I'm attempting to use Wordpress to use adbox's Blogsense but I got a tiny problem. I setup categories but they're not showing up on the sidebar. Any one know what obvious thing I'm missing here?

P.S. I normally use Joomla....that's my excuse

Some themes require that you select which categories will be visible in the sidebar. This is assuming you have moved the widget onto the sidebar in your admin panel. Also you may also have to populate the categories with content for them to show up.
