WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Hi,
I am looking for a good WP Plugin to help me with cloning blogs/plugin setting to other sites. Something like ghosting it.
If possible from a central place, if not I would not mind I do it for each site.
I am not sure if backup/restore plugin will work.
Any thoughts?

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Check out www.slurpablog.com. I saw this guy's post on WF. I bought the book but the full package has a blank blog also. Clear way to clone blogs. I found it useful.

Not in the versions that I know of. It only activates them.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
I have just been looking at two options: wp cloner and wordpress cloner. Both claim to clone a complete install including plugin configurations. I have just installed wordpress cloner which was $90 ish. Can't get it to work at the mo and the support is pretty much non existant. The other one looks not much better on the info front but if I can get this one working it looks ideal.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Thanks for everyone's feedback. It seems, there is not much of an option, Here are what I have so far:
- slurpablog.com ; I am not, if it does it.
- wpmanagerdx ; May do it
- wp cloner and wordpress cloner

If you dont mind me asking what host are you using it with, and please let us know if you get it working, and how it is.
I also been looking at it but it doesn’t have the best reviews

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
why do you need a plugin for this?
Why not just copy the database, or am I missing something here?
-
-
Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
I do not think backup and restore of the DB works?
-
-
Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Wpcloner and wpmanagerdx and the rest only work with sub domains.
I am having an application built for pre config wordpress installs onto domains.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
I pulled the trigger and grabed this the other day, as i have a ton of site i need to copy the plugins, files, and settings for.
I still have not been able to clone even 1 site, I spoke with support a few times the first day and they explained in order for them to test the script i need to install 2 default WP blogs and give them login info.
Which i sent soon the after since then i have not received a reply or heard anything from support.
Hoping to hear back soon or i may just asked for refund and start going at it manually

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Just had a custom addon made for wpmangerdx to do this. I can make 1000 blogs with wp robot, keywords, adsense, etc. including all plugin settings in just a few minutes.
Now if I can find a vps cheap enough that can handle all these blogs Ill be in business.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
I have been using backup buddy
Code:
hxxp://plugiDELETEnbuTHISddyDOTcom/purchase/bacTHISkupbuALSOddy/
. It works perfectly, I copy the clone to the new uri, change the config file and I'm up and running. We had an authority ecommerce site, we switched it over to a blog with this method. One minute it's an ecommerce site, 5 minutes later it is a blog with posts dating back many years.
BTW this is the first post I felt I could contribute something so hello everyone.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Here is what I did for plugins; need to be able to understand the source codes though.
Look through the source codes and find where it sets up the options and database during install. Manually hardcode all my options and settings I want for every new blog. I have a base WP install folder I copy to the new domain, change 3-4 things manually since they are different for each blog, activate theme, active all plugins and I'm done. Just have to take the time before hand to setup your environment.
I found a new niche I wanted to try out last night and the time it took to purchase the domain and setup the AB was about 30 minutes total.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Here is what I did to move a wordpress to another domain.
I copied all the database tables and imported them into the new install and then used a plug in called velevet Blues to rewrite all the site links. maybe try something like this?

No it's not. It won't auto setup plugin settings and several other important things.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
No need for the madness, under your cpanel settings, if you used simple scripts (formely fantastico) to create your blog there is an option to import previous blog settings to a whole new wp install.

Will this not do what your asking?

Yeah, it seems that all of these programs (at least the ones I've seen) are for installing in just the sub.
Is anybody aware of any good programs to clone site, plugins & settings to NEW Domains?
Thanks in advance,

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Does WP Cloner install all new blogs on the same database, that would suck.

Search for wpmudev. They've got this amongst other stuff for wpmu.

Now I use imacros for setting up plugins on all blogs, and I'm happy with it.

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
This looks interesting does it exist at hostgator? I looked around, is it called quick install? They have fantastico, but It gives no options like this.

WpManager DX 3.12 can do plugin settings/theme settings APPARENTLY -- check out the News section of the wpdx site. Anyone confirm this? Also it's available on this forum for a very good price

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Surprised nobody has mentioned WPTwin.
It does exactly this - Clones the whole blog and its settings.
It costs like 90$ but I downloaded it from either here or another site can't remember. I'll upload it in the shares section if there is enough demand

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
I would suggest WP Twin as well.
It's quite flexible, look at the characteristics summary here:
Clones everything , including...
- Plugins (and their configurations)
- Comments (if you have any)
- Pages & Posts (as well as the content in them)
- Tags & Categories
- Permalink structures & privacy settings
- Themes (including active themes and inactive ones!)
- Affiliate links & links of any kind
- Footer and header information
Home page
HTML Code:
http://wptwin.net/
And download from this thread (also given in the previous post).

Re: WP Plugin to Clone my settings
Ycote: I can't PM you due to low post count, but I would be interested in the plugin you had created. I have already purchase WPManagerDX and like the layout so a Plugin that allows them to take on the settings of other blogs would make it perfect. If you are interested in selling the plugin to me, please let me know what you would want for it. Thanks

Wrong. It will set them up.
Also you can create a "profile", and use that to install blogs by entering the domain you want it to set up at.
