What would be better for a content site, i.e. Downloads and stuff?

well do you know a lot about joomla? because wordpress is easier to manage, for me atleast.

Wordpress is thousand times easier to handle + lots of options.

There are 2 differnet things,
wordpress is more like blog
and joomla is a cms
but wordpress is going to be a full cms, if you are think about seo, updates and future wordpress is the best option, and google love it...
regards

they're both good but wordpress is better for blogging for sure

after playing around with both, wordpress wins for me. It is easier to use out of the box and more versatile.

wordpress is designed for blogs. Easy to use. several free plugins to download and use.
Joomla is complicated in some way. but once you get used to it, it's win in manipulating web contents. what i like with joomla is the module positions. it also has several components, modules and plugins to use. a powerful CMS i must say.

I'm still like an idiot when it comes to joomla..the interface is too confusing for me lol

I'm a joomla guy myself, i only use wordpress for autoblogs... you can make real websites with joomla.... customize anything you want etc.

Sometimes I open an autoblog i have in wordpress as a wrapper in joomla.... best of all worlds.

Does anyone know any auto content plugins that would work well for autobloggin in joomla?

I chose to install WordPress MU in my domains because it's downright usable with little tinkering upon installation. If you are just going to blog solo or with a very small team, WordPress (or WordPress MU) is much better.

You'll only need to consider Joomla or Drupal if you have lots of different types of contents and expecting a large group to manage.
