I was just wondering if anyone ever tried collecting data from big G workers to find out small things like what kind of browsers they are using, but most importantly their referrers so we can implement a script on our blackhat site to show them white hat instead??

I guess to accomplish this one would probably have to contact them with some bogus story about the ads on your site not working.. be sure to log all traffic coming to that site and make sure no one else is going to that site except you and them to prevent a bunch of different referrers being logged.

I dont know, i just had a thought and figured i would share it with you guys.. You are more than welcome to add to this discussion.

so yall dont wanna brainstorm together???

No disrespect, but that's kind of a retarded idea. I'm sure google employees use chrome, so that doesn't help you at all since you would be showing the wrong content to a large percentage of the population. A referrer is set browser side, not server side. If you want good cloaking, use ip cloaking software. I own a company that develops such software (the best in the industry in fact). If you want more info you can contact me anytime.

you could show alternate content for their entire network if you tricked them into visiting the page once buuuuut..... they could have several locations or some crazy proxy scheme. who knows. anyway give it a try. should be easy as pie :P

my money says they're all using chrome.

really...besides chrome what else do you think they use??

also to guy who said it would be retarded.... i actually block traffic based on browser type which is beneficial to me because they are redirected to a part of my site i want them to see but @ the same time its giving me a better CTR..... ;)

Based on my logs it wouldnt hurt to block chrome being that not too many of my visitors use it....

Blocking by browser is a mistake. BIG mistake. I've been doing this for 10+ years.

Actually they don't all use chrome. I saw a couple of their machines using Firefox because they like to use the add-ons...
