I love this statement: MPAA CEO Chris Dodd said in a statement that the judgment was another step “toward protecting an Internet that works for everyone.”

Yep, protecting the Internet for Big Business you mean.

I'm even more shock that hotfile have 80 million. When you make that much money doing questionable business model, you need to abort mission or sell the business quick once you get some millions and start a new project.

    I wonder who owns ICANN.

This is why other countries are pushing for a name registry that is not owned by the American government. Until there is a naming registry that is not owned by the American government, the American government can shut down any website.

Well, it could become another hugely bureaucratic organ of the UN, but that's not much of a solution either. They are about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

The problem is that the American is the guy who sort of inventing the Internet.
It is somehow implied by the TLD naming convention.
All other country have their own commercial TLD, such as .co.uk, .co.sg, .co.fr, while the US can enjoy their own .com.
The same thing goes with .gov and .edu. Other countries have to make do with .go.uk while the US enjoy .gov. It's www.healthcare.gov, not www.healthcare.gov.us or something.

Business related to IT should learn to stay away from US soil.

Just think of how many billions that little file sharer made to cough up $80 mil like phlegm.
Of course, agreeing to pay isn't the same as paying...

These companies should stop using .Com or .Net domain names
    and start using offshore hosting
