Hello BHW members,

Yesterday I heard about Bitcoin going up from $190 to $240, so I thought I should also get some. I searched for Bitcoins and then I found that there are some ways to get Bitcoins. I planned to get my hands dirty and Mine Bitcoins using my GPU and Brain (lolz).

I have an Intel Quad Core Q8200 2.4Ghz, 8GB RAM, Nvidia Geforce 5700GT at home which I bought 2 yrs back and I can generate unlimited number of Windows Azure Trial accounts for free (Brain), so I thought this hardware specs are on par to mine some Bitcoins in a period of Week-month.

Bitcoins:
Then I installed GUI Miner from (guiminer. org) on my home PC and joined Slush's Pool as it is very hard to mine alone.

Then I tried to install GUI miner on my Windows Azure VPS 8 Core - 14GB RAM but it doesn't started mining and till now it stays dormant doing nothing.

Litecoins:
Today I heard about Litecoins (~$4), as they are not very strong but can also be mined.

Is there any senior member who can guide me (or the rest of BHW noobs family) on how to mine for bitcoins/litecoins from Windows Azure.
I am looking for advice from anybody who is mining coins from Azure VPS. I am also open to any piece of advice and even willing to share my earnings if you can wake up my dormant MINER.

You're too late buddy.. mining bt blocks difficulty have risen so fast and the normal gpu mining is becoming a thing of the past.

Just mine LTC. BTC is hard if you are starting out. Those new ASIC machines are going to raise difficulty even more.

go ahead with LTC you can do it , but for BTC its way too hard :-(

So what else is there besides litecoin? And is litecoin a bitcoin clone or something?

I am mining litecoins with azure I can show you how to set it up if you can provide me 10 azure accounts.

Well giving up 10 azure accounts for setup of Litecoin mining is a deal I don't do everyday but I will be very interested if you could tell me on what speed miners will achieve plus what will be the average time of mining litecoins?

I expect that you can tell me by this kind of an answer:
speed of single miners: 20-100 kHash/s
(multiple) speed of single miners: 20-100 kHash/s
Average 1 litecoins = 24-36 Hrs.

so that if I can get 8 Litecoin miners running on 8 Core Azure VPS:
Total Speed will be = 8(20-100) = 160-800 kHash/s.
Average 1 litecoins = 3-4 Hrs.

plus I also want to know how much of litecoins you have mined already with how many you receive on a daily basis.
waiting for your response.

Surprise: your answer has half way satisfied me and I want to give a free Windows Azure VPS.
let me know how many cores and what type you want with Email ID and will send you the .rdp file
CHEERS

Well I am not very much into this as I myself heard about the Litecoin recently. as of my understanding Litecoin is also a kind of digital currency (roughly valued 1 Ltc = $4) and it can also be mined through CPU-GPU.

Litecoin is the most popular bitcoin clone. It features faster transactions and more available coins. It used a much harder algorithm (scrypt) for its proof of work scheme that was though to be GPU resistant (it wasn't, litecoin is mainly mined on GPU now). I sent you a pm with earnings potential information.

just use eobot it works in Azure and will get you cash instead of those dumb coins...been doing it for a few months now

I build, setup and install Litecoin Mining Rigs if anyone needs any assistance. We are also thinking to offer an end to end service soon where we will also host Mining Rigs.

I prefer working with Linux though. Xubuntu is the best platform. If you want to collect more coins per day you really need a system with a high end GPU. My GPU of choice is an HD7950. Of course if you have a large number of machines 10,000+ with standard CPU's you can also mine a decent amount of coins. Litecoins are currently $3 per coin. There is potential for this value to explode in a few years time.

Litecoin is similar to Bitcoin however the transaction speed is a lot quicker. Litecoin can process the transaction 4 times faster than Bitcoin in around 2.5 minutes. I therefore think Litecoin has a better future in terms of ecommerce or retail transactions.

go ahead with LTC you can do it , but for BTC its way too hard :-(

Im interested. Lets setup a Skype Discussion Group. I already have a bunch of contacts for Litecoin Mining. We can work on some new projects.
There is still plenty of opportunity to make money with Litecoin. Hit Me Up on Skype - PM me

Pm'd you .

Why not use it for something more profitable and invest some of the income in what you would make if you were mining coins?

Thanks for setting up the Skype Group Pofigy. I got the invite. We can discuss Mining there. If anyone else is interested hit me up
