Default Is it just bad luck or should I quit ?

Hi everyone, I am Tritina and I have been here for about a year. I started IM on my 18th birthday (got my bank account the same day to use it with oDesk since it's the only way for me to get paid). My first job was on oDesk, I worked on SEO jobs for a while, I been reading a lot about SE and SEO for 2 years ... But after 4 months it stopt .. I kept trying to get some jobs from oDesk but still nothing. People bid with $1 an hour or so and that's nothing ...

So I kept reading on BHW until the summer, I spent like 3 months trying to set up a long term income, but, nothing after the 3 months. I lost around $200 in hostings, articles and domains ...

I guess I am cursed, unlucky or something like that ... It has been more than 6 months and I am trying to make some cents and didn't give up (But I think I will if things keep going this way ...). My biggest weakness is writing. I don't really know how to write articles and almost all IM is based on articles ... You can sell something if you cannot describe it, you cannot rank if you don't have good content, etc ...

I had a little talk with Ferma231 (Aivix), he is really a good person, but I guess you already know that. Well, I am trying to start an Amazon affiliate site even if my articles aren't really good (not in english). Aivix encouraged me to publish them and see how it goes, and that's what I am trying right now.

I just want to know if this is normal or not ? I mean the NO LUCK thing ...

Thank you for your time and good luck!

This is your problem. I have spent FAR more than 200 dollars and 3 months and things are just finally starting to turn around. You have to be patient and continue to work. Never give up so easily, unless of course you want to make it easier for all the rest of us XD

What work have you actually done in those 9 months? Did you write an article every once in a while, and maybe think about building some links? Or did you actually sit down for hours a day, without distractions and truly work toward your goal?

    There's nothing to worry about!
You make me remember my first months in IM. I made pennies yet I stayed at my computer to read and work as much as possible... Was it worth it? Hell, yes!

You know what, I recommend you check out other methods too.
The only way you're going to be successful is you have to fail. That's just how it works.

    Good luck!

Try harder. Look over what you tried so far, and simplify - pick out the thing that you saw most success with or most potential with or enjoyed the most. Then work again at that, but work TWICE as hard.

Most of us didn't get lucky on our first IM venture. Sometimes you sink a lot of time and money into a project and it doesn't give anything back. It's hard to know when to shelf a project and move on even when you are pulling a good income, much less when you are first starting out.

Make sure you're learning from the right people and keep chugging forward. If you are persistent, you will find something that works for you. When you do start seeing money come in, reinvest into your business to diversify and scale it.

I built links and tried to, but how can I build links if I don't have articles ?! ... In the past 9 months I tried all kind of methods. Just name it and I tell you how to do it and/or how to twist it! That's why I think there is a problem.

I am not a stupid person or a copy-paste person ... I use my head (like a lot) but each time I fail. In your case, if you keep failing for more than 9 months, what would you do ?!

Your English is very readable so you should not have a problem writing some articles for web 2.0s. Also, you mentioned above you are working on an amazon site. While these are fun and pretty noob friendly, the earnings in the very beginning are kind of frustrating and low. I would recommend you try some low search volume affiliate marketing to motivate yourself some more once you get that first sale.

Keep trying. It takes years sometimes to perfect a technique or method. Don't give up that easily

The fact is that you have to have content for linkbuilding. Your options are either to outsource it or do it yourself. The best option would be to get a part-time job to outsource your SEO efforts, but your second option is obviously to do it yourself.

The great thing about linkbuilding content is that it doesn't have to be perfect. Your English is 100% for that purpose.

Beyond that, there's still plenty of ways you can rank with spun content that doesn't involve any writing whatsoever but I would only use it on a burner site.

    Thoughts ...

#1) If you're broke there's no reason you need to use your own hosting. Free hosts are often superior to regular hosting. They rank better, faster, and have more authority and trust with Google than a brand spanking new domain.

#2) SEO sounds too long term for you. Find a couple methods by reading around that have faster results.

#3) Put together a little link package you can offer to others. Find a couple good fiverr gigs and duplicate it to the best of your effort. Start selling the link packages on fiverr and other webmaster forums for faster cash. Save up and move yourself to better software, better link packages. This gets you short term money along with letting you perfect your linking skills when you move on to ranking your own stuff.
