The guy that used to be mayor of where I live, has just been charged with 21 counts of corruption for stuff dating back to 2004,by the American Government. Go to Chicago. Politicians get arrested weekly.

Chicago is about 7.5 times bigger so of course more politicians are getting arrested there and more often.

In Spain corruption its normal (Politicians, bankers) ...

So since the accused is not someone like kim dotcom, Bradley manning, piratebay founders or the reddit guy that killed himself or the wikileaks guy, it is political? And what about all those SOPA,PIPA,ACTA threads earlier in 2012.

And I was just trying to be helpful to my fellow BHW folks like you but you appear to have misunderstood my friendly post...

So you're saying that its OK to take bribe money from contractors and accept their overpriced offers using your position as advantage while the the people who voted you are paying all of it.

Had a quick look through his charge sheet...The guy was filthy. Just because corruption was something that happened in the past it doesnt make it right today.

Pricks like this greedhead are the reason why historical buildings are levelled to make way for the new Kwik-e-mart, and why kids schools get built beside the toxic Ironworks because some property developer had a packet of land that they needed to sell to the council for 4 million(minus brown envelope for the mayor)

Drive these robbers out of office and build a better city.

I don't get why they couldn't have done the corruption in a better way, if they would have spent a few months he and his cronies could have developed a nearly hidden plan to get away with taking bribes. They should have used several companies spread out over hong kong,russia,switzerland,caymen islands etc.

Where I live, 'politician' is synonymous to 'corrupt'. But people don't seem to care, as they vote for them regardless.

It seems to me every politician is corrupt, by the very process that is used to elect them in the first place, they know they must pander to the popular vote, at least in their constituency and forever more must do the same. Whilst it certainly isn't perfect it is the only workable alternative we have at the moment.

When I read the headline of this post I was just certain it was going to be a Illinois politician lol. Here in Illinois we have some of the nations finest crooks......I mean politicians.
