I need a way to keep track of my business income and expenses. I know that excel template would work the best but all of the ones I found are either plain ugly or have some fields which I don't need (projected income, etc.)

Can someone point me to the best pc/mac software solution or some good excel template? I found some great online services with smartphone apps which are handy, but I don't want something like that in cloud enviroment.

It can even integrate directly into your bank accounts if they have online statements/account sheet. Other nifty features include a calendar with rolling balance, seperate account management and other features. Highly recommended.
Protip though: Don't pirate it and do the above.

Ditto Quickbooks is the best option for the money. If you need to enter PayPal payments use Simpleport subscription. Works great and well worth the $10 to $20 a month.

I would suggest using Replicon's simple to use time tracking software suite which is too simple to use and quick to implement. It is totally hassle free, being cloud based can be accessed from anywhere and has got good to use features.
