Millions of dollars have been made in result of these idiotic rumors. This, and only this, should be enough of a reason to believe any claims of the "end of the world" is a hoax.

Also, it proves how stupid people are as a whole.

The end is gonna come for all of us, doesn't mean 12/21/12 is when it's gonna be, but everyone dies. Might as well live life everyday like tomorrow could be the end. (Not saying I do this, but a nice thought lol)

And let's be honest here... Even if they straight up predicted the end of the world with specifics, why would we be concerned about the prophecies of some long dead ancient Mesoamerican civilization? They also thought that cutting out the still beating heart from a human chest cavity was a good way to appease god.

This is a one sided argument, as the people who think the world will end will be unable to gloat that they were right as the world would have ended. The people that think this is rubbish and all the scare mongering that came from the realise of the 2012 end of the world film will be the only people with the ability to say "you were wrong how stupid do you feel?" So really its unfair to really say either way, all i know is if it ends on the 21/12/12 then i will survive!

I don't think there are any doubts at all the world will end on Friday. Have already sold most of my assets except for my laptop.

Only idiots believe in those stores. I have "survived" so many ends of worlds already haha, it will be funny when i get kids and tell them that i survived many apocalypses and saved the world ! haha

I gotta say though, I haven't heard almost anything from this. A year ago or so I thought there would be a little more uproar than it has been so far.
