*** I need advice***



Okay, So here's how it goes,

I'm selling an e book and have pay pal and e junkie connected.

So once they click the pay button and pay the amount they get transferd to e junkie for the download of the e book. right?

So someone brought the product and received download, and their bank sent the money to pay pal and pay pal sent the money to me.


So i sent the money to my bank account and paid off a loan.

3 days later i see that my paypal account is -264.56 (something like that)

I emailed paypal numerous of times and wasn't getting anywhere so i called up today and this is what happened


I explained the whole story.


and they said, the buyer did not buy the product, so the buyer went to the bank and told their bank that he/she did not buy my e book so the bank or paypal reversed the transaction and took the money back for me and put me in the negitives...

so now, how the fuck was i suppose to know this was going to happen?


Supposely, someone was using someone Else's account

(So maybe it was hacked)

And paypal told me the account was on a different I.P address then it normally is.

and i brought up the fact that, they could of been at their mom's house instead of their dads house, or they could of been at college (these were examples i used)


And the lady didn't say anything so i was like do you understand where im coming from.



So now, i cant do much, i have tried emailing the buyers email account and i cant get in touch with the buyers bank because i dont have any information on it.


I then asked, what would happen if i dont owe you guys (paypal) the negative balance, they said to me they will put my account in collection and attempt to sue me...


But don't you guys think i have a good case on my side? like a complete legit innocent thing. i have proof of everything. like pictures and shit.

YOU are in the right, PayPal better professional-up and cover this and leave you out of this, you just provide and print your documents, screenshots, and details of the situations. If they sue you then SO BE IT, that is actually something great, they pay for the law fees, if you present your case well, you will win and fuck PayPal. Do not back down and do not be afraid. For an immediate solution (about the negative balance), I don't know what you can do, PP is a dick and will force you to reckon with them. I would try my best to get ahold of the buyer and if I'm not successful I will make sure that the buyer's email is spread all over the web as a scammer - I would call it a loss - but this is just me, but what if this was a larger amount of money?

NEVER sell e-commerce to strangers through PP, I find that sellers are screwed more when they sell digital products to anybody, screen your buyers properly if you have to. As a matter of advice, never sell e-commerce through PP at all, or use escrow in the future. This will filter your conversions to pure profit and no scammers.

you have done nothing wrong my friend, let them make threats to sue you and when the court date comes you even win or you end up in the same position as you are in now.

Paypal is 99% not likely to sue you over less than $300 because its such a small amount in their eyes and they dont really need the media attention that you of course will provide them with if they decide to sue you.

Thanks for you're response. I forgot to mention one more thing. They said that virtual items are not covered by the paypal service shit.

The person that brought the product could of made up a bullshit story to their bank and that's fucked up how it puts me in the bad position.


My story is all legit, no exaggerations. That's how everything went down.

fuck em, get a new paypal account. i'd tell them to come and get it. for $250 bucks they can suck a nut. They can sell your collections account off to a collections company, which will most likely be the case. I highly doubt they will sue over $250 they'll lose more on it with the legal fees. Only thing is when you're ready for a mortgage or a loan, you'll probably have to get it cleared up.

You are lucky your account was not locked up.
Yes paypal is not professional and they have a lot of methods that seem to be illegal to me.

Your options:
a) pay paypal
b) create a new account and use that one, make sure to watch your bank etc to reject any transactions from paypal (they might try to steal the money from your CC or bank)
c) if possible switch payment company

Tell them to get f*****. Who are they gonna sue? Themselves? You can prove your product was downloaded right? Tell the $10 an hour collector to send you certified copies of the agreement you signed stating you agreed to pay for being ripped off. They won't send them because they don't exist! See the scam? If they OK'd the transaction and refunded money without PROOF of wrongdoing on the part of the vendor, then that is their fault!

They tried to get me for $900. a couple years ago. I laughed hysterically. The burden of proof is on THEM. Not me or you! Make sure you do not have any bank or credit card accounts tied to the account in question.

If they give you any shit beyond that use the guys at Lexington Law dot com. They will jerk a knot in their asses real quick.

Hmm usually paypal stops you from removing any cards or accounts from your paypal account if the balance is below zero.
At least I thought so.

I did it before i was in the negatives when i had a great feeling i was getting fucked over

You can try to get it resolved. When ever I have a problem with them it is never simple and requires a lot of emails/phone calls until it does get resolved. I guess they just hope you will drop it and go away.

If they don't want to resolve tell them to go ahead and sue, its a joke over that amount.

Then if someday you need to clear up your credit for a mtg loan or something as someone mentioned, you just go to the collections company and offer them $100 to settle and they will probably take it. Its better than nothing for them and you are only out $100 instead of $264.

Tell paypal to meet you in court with your local news media or settle it right away, ou have documentation. If you do end up in court see if your lawyer can find out who the owner of the other IP address is and if there is any relation. If there is then I would subpoena them as well.

Lol. WEll i just sent them another email... Not like it's going to do much. but showing them that im not going to back down something that i didnt do

I have called them but only once, but i plan on calling them again tomorrow. Paypal is fucken stubborn.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I think if your info is sent to a collection agency it can hurt your credit score--- double check this-

Rumor has it that there is a sexually frustrated paypal employee dude who sits around all day and just randomly limits accounts.

But on a serious note, paypal lied to me a couple times. It's either that or they put too much trust into their system.

If you have an account linked to your paypal account they will go into your bank account and collect the money themselves [did it to me] they can do it.

i would get a lawyer to send a letter to the address of the paypal account that spent the money, they may be willing to help if it was truly a hacked account.

If not they may get scared and settle.

gaypal sucks big time. stop calling them because your words are recorded. When they sue you, they might use the recorded words which you accidentally said wrongly (while you are in anger).
