Hey,

I am looking for a decent exif editor. I want to ensure that any photo I decide I want to use on a website has the exif data checked and removed if needed.

i am cheap and I prefer to get freeware app that lets me do it. no virus embedded crap like pictomia or something like that.

I was thinking exif pilot, but the free version does not let you edit the exif data, only view.

Windows does the job (Right click -> Properties -> Details)

I've been using BatchPurifier which is perfect for batch purifying. Then again it doesn't really show or let you edit any information. The free version is restricted to JPEG images but in general it's very good.

Hmm, that was almost too easy.

Do you or anyone else know if that removes all tracking or personal information?

there is an option to remove Properties and Personal information, i just want to know that it actually gets everything.

I don't want to use a photo on one of my sites and someone track the origin if it is not originally mine.

I use Image Metadata Stripper:
http://codewelt.com/stripper

It strips exif and meta data for jpegs, gifs, and png. I use it on my Mac and it works well. I'm not sure how well the Windows version works.

Yes it removes all details, but if that is not save enough for you then you can create a screenshot of your image and then past it to photoshop or whatever you use, crop it and then save it as a new file.
