Easy Way to Gather Emails?

I'm making a website, and It's going to need the user's e-mail to be submitted before they can move on, and I'd like to gather all of the emails in a simple document, without having to pay $15/month or whatever for AWeber or other mailing list services.

Anyone have any good ideas for a solution?
