Am I getting scammed?? Paypal

I have just got an email from paypal stating that I have received payment of $500 from a name & email address that I do not recognise. Currently the amount is 'unclaimed' because I have not accepted or declined the payment.
I'm all for receiving free money, but gut instincts say this is a scam, possibly to do with chargebacks/refunds - is this possible? Btw, it must be noted that I have not sent any item to anyone and am not expecting a payment.

What are your thoughts? Cheers

My long lost uncle over in Nigeria also sent me $500,000 USD. All I had to do was deposit a check in my bank account and send him some money back for the fees. What an awesome guy <3

check the real email is it from paypal?
do not click any link inside email body, if you're login using that links, your password will be stolen.

Or you could just do the simple thing and go onto PayPal in your browser (not clicking any links in the e-mail) and see if there's the payment listed.

What a coincidence!!! Your long-lost uncle had also sent me a email yesterday stating that I am to get 500 million US Dollars free soon.

He wants me to pay him only INR 15K for opening a bank account in Nigeria for the whole amount to become stable or else he says that the authorities may otherwise confiscate the money and of course I will lose those US$ 500M

. What a nice guy this your uncle is!!! Hope he keeps the money well-manured and watered so that the little amount grows multifold while I arrange to buy over that bank of Nigeria.

Please convey my thanks to your uncle and ask him to come to India so that I can 'welcome' him appropriately!
