Hi guys! Recently i updated firefox 10 and since then browsing with it is a nightmare!

First the pages fail to load correctly most of the time and then when it loads the layout of pages don't look right most of the time. Tables off, spacing wrong, even background comes with weird stuff.

It made me switch to chrome for most of the times now.
What a load of crap!

What about you? any issues or is it just me?

I abandoned Firefox at version 4. They seemed to care more about version numbers and releases at that point than keeping the browser light and user friendly. At least, IMO. I only use Chrome now.

disable hardware accelaration in options advanced.

No Issue with me working fine as before.

I'm still using Firefox 3.6.24 didn't updated after that. I m used to this look of firefox and whenever i tried to change to new versions i didn't suite to my needs.

I don't mind the looks really - the bigger issue is that the whole browser is fucked up functionality wise.

In daily usage percent:
Chrome 85% <- the winner
Firefox 12% <- when need another browser simultaneously
Opera 3% <- no idea

I thought Firefox was the top choice for an IM when it came to browser....I have version 10. Seems to be OK. Takes a while to start up the first time. Other than that, no complaints really.

Seems like FF is getting from bad to worse. But I still use the older version which is much better than the recent ones. One big issue that I face is that it consumes a lot of memory... so I close my browser after few hours and start it again.

no problems so far with the latest update, check your stuff

I got tired of it asking me to update every week. Been with Chrome for a long time now. Just do it.

Used to have a lot of crashes before the update - seems to have been fixed now.

Where the hell did you get those numbers? That is utter bullshit. So basically according to your stats, nobody uses IE?

My preference is FF 3.6 with Chrome a close second but here are real numbers

All they care about is version numbers, it is true. I remember Firefox 2 was the latest for like 3 years with minor updates and this was when FF was the best, now it went form FF 4 to FF 10 in a year and it's retarded. No need for those constant updates...

Firefox its history, prisma its a great browser based on firefox

Srware iron its working great for me

The bad thing about Chrome is that it's own by G*ogle Makes it easier for them to ban your sites. They already have access to WAY to much personal information.

I'm not saying it's a bad browser but "come on" can I get some privacy? I just have a love hate relationship with the G and I need to vent some.

Still using FF and Opera! I have no problem using v10 so far.

It's actually a little faster than before. Well that's how it is with my laptop

to be honest i much prefer to stick with firefox despite all my recent problems. and i only use chrome for secondary things normally.
I will hold on for the next update which, if we take in consideration recent firefox events, it will be next week lol.

but firefox was great until they decided to increase the version numbers like crazy.

Maybe a dumb noob question but I switch to chrome won't I lose teh SEO plugins from firefox? does CHrome have similar stuff?

I'm not having any problems with Firefox. IMO it's still the way to go as it's open source and possibly more private than Chrome or IE.

I second SRWare's Iron browser, all the benefits of chrome without the big G looking over your shoulder.

Check the release notes, nothing really much in Firefox 10 that would cause these sorts of issues, mostly the release of their own internal developer tools (Although minor as to not compete with Firebug) and that's about it.

Back in the days I used to use IE. When I found out that other much faster and smoother browsers exist, I moved onto FF. Nowadays I still use FF but it just doesn't feel the same. It can be just as slow as IE and it frequently crashes. I'd use Chrome but I don't trust them, I'm suspicious of them tracking your actions.

FF have amazing plugins you can't find it with other browsers , and it's free !

Chrome for browsing and Firefox for other stuff. Both great browsers IMO. Even IE is getting better.

I do find myself having to compensate less and less for IE errors when designing websites, as far as the more recent releases go. That being said, I still design for IE 6 because upgrading versions for some people seems to be some dastardly mythological terror that will wreak havoc on their lives.

Ditto about ff feeling slow and quoting the total lack of trust about google on my part.

I suggest to give chromium a shot: the open source build before google adds all his crap: integrated PDF, flash player, autoupdate, tracking IDs and so forth. Working pretty cool for me on basically all the major platforms.

Chrome runs smoothest for me, I'm a very impatient person so that's a big deal

I'm new here. I swear this keeps happening since I upgraded the Firefox. All videos freeze up and then my graphics processor takes a dump. Now you may say that has nothing to do with firefox, but, it works find in Google Chrome and other browsers. I checked add ons, ran all the spyware, etc but I really think it's a compatiblity issue. I am working on a Pavilion Dv7. I use the Firefox with the ******** Toolbars and Alexa page rank toolbar, backlinks etc. So I have to love my Firefox right?

Firefox 9 was getting on my nerves and now firefox 10 is just completely messed up. It hangs on pages for ages. It doesn't even allow particular anti virus extensions.

Crap as hell.

The only reason I've stuck with firefox for so long was for their add-ons i.e firebug
For instant access and speed I use google chrome
Use opera for saving sessions. I love that feature on opera!

They have totally gone down the drain.

I hate firefox but still finding myself using it out of habit. All I know is by the time I get 4 browsers open with a few tabs each, the whole system starts getting dragged down, I look at task manager and firefox is sitting there with 600k to 800k mem used, and releases nothing even if I close everything but one window.

And then when I close the last window, half the time firefox is still sitting there in task manager with 600k ram used and won't let me start it back up unless I end-task it.

I use FF 99% of my time, 1% Chrome
There were not much changes from v9 to v10, mostly firebug update.
And I don't optimise for IE6, I just show them a message that if they want to see my website properly they have to upgrade
