I've just watched the BBC news and the head of Amazon uk was being interviewed about their last quarter results. They have forecast a loss for the first quarter of 2012. Which is remarkable coming from a company whose turnover rose by 35% to a record of $17.43 billion! From that $17 billion they made $177 million in profit which is nothing to be sneezed at but it still way short of the $416 million in profit a year earlier.
And they are forecasting a loss early next year. Apparently a lot of the profit is going into re-investment..... which is commonly known as someone's offshore account
