Do proxies increase internet speed? See, in the PH the connections are slow compared to other countries. If I use a private proxy, will my connection speed up?

And if anyone is willing to let me buy just one private proxy, PM me.

Nope, they slow them down generally (for me at least).

no...

my internet almost dead by changing the proxies..

No, you will just be connecting to a server before you connect to websites etc.

The only way proxies can increase your browsing speed is if your DNS servers suck, and the proxies are better. Other than that, nothing can increase the speed assigned by your internet service provider.

not too sure about proxy but a vpn can increase your internet speed, and with proper setting, it can also bypass your bandwidth limitation imposed by your ISP

The answer is both yes, and no.

In general, no, they'll slow your connection down by adding extra hops(more distance for the info to travel).

In some cases you might reduce the hops your packets travel by using a proxy. If you have maybe a good private proxy setup in russia then you might get better speeds to russia than if you connect directly, since by using your proxy on the good server you're taking a more direct route into russia.

In most cases though the answer is that it'll slow you down.
