With iOS 5 just out and Android ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) coming up, it's a decent debate.

I'm personally an Android guy. Way more customization and when I'm playing with an iPhone I feel like I'm a little girl. Also iOS steals 1/2 of it's ideas from Android and releases it as "Revolutionary, never before seen technology"

Which do you like more and why?

i choose android because it's more customizable. iOS is just too plain.

Dont get me wrong, i love apple. I have macbook pro, i had an iMac, and i also invest in apple distribution company in my country, but I just like android phones better.

I plan to buy galaxy nexus when it comes out.

PS: I hate both fanatics, apple fanboys and fandroids - they suck big time

Android mainly because of the variety of phones available :)

All depends on the user. Because I love to be able to do actual multitasking where tasks still run in the background, play videos in any format, download torrents on a phone and appreciate the choice of more than one kind of phone (phone of choice is my samsung galaxy s II, got two of them) I gotta go with android.

Like I said though, all depends on the user and for a Grandma wanting to keep up with the littlies photos on facebook, iOS is great. Definitely easier to pick up and use straight away.

Being in charge of 30+ corporate phone accounts I've used almost every phone sold in New Zealand and to date, nothing comes close to the s2.

Having said that the question was about the operating systems. If you like to customise, android, if you're happy with automatic everything and no customisation, ios.

Android is MUCH BETTER than iOS period. Have this battle all the time. Android can do SOOOO much more than iOS. Name one thing iOS can do that android cant. I Dare you.

The new Siri feature?

I have both iOS and Android and I have to say by far looking at functionality, stability, security and variety of apps iOS.

Android has voice command. Siri is just fluffy glitter crap.

My post was apparently offensive. Sorry.

wrong. in your opinion maybe. android is much more stable, has equal variety of apps, and better sercurity. Had tons of security features both oem and third party, including antivirus and firewalls.
While I agree with you that Android is better, how can you say his opinion is wrong? You blatantly said he stated an opinion and you also said it was wrong. That's illogical. And also rude. No one's going to like you if you police the thread trying to disprove every iOS supporter.

You can find antivirus and firewall apps in iOS too. I am not going to argue with you about this topic because it's like arguing with you about religion. Everybody has his own opinion.

oh well. =) i'll edit my offensive post.

Android FTW

GS2 which came 6 months before IP4s kills it to death :)

Did ios5 just copy the notification thing from Android :P

I have GS2 with 2.3.3 installed on it and yes I think Apple copied the notification sliding panel from android but I have to say that from the hardware side the GS2 is the shit but from the software side I don't really love it so much. Is not that easy as iOS is. I mean iOS is simple, easy to use, easy to uninstall aplications not having 100 apps running in the background killing your phone, not having to kill all the apps everytime I need to do something.

Android is awesome because it's FREE and it can bee installed on many phones. iOS is the best because it's premium, it has phones created just for them, functionality is great, security, simplism, design etc are all great. The apps that are created for iOS have more functionality and more stability than apps created for the Android.

Every system has his own pros and cons. Both systems are awesome.

This debate is something like Mac vs PC. Premium computer with premium os versus Any computer with standard os.

Just my 2c.
