Not sure where this should go but here's a question for you gents that use paypal.

Do you guys know (maybe from experience or friends) what triggers paypal's account freeze?

And let's say you're doing something slightly illegal in terms of their regulations (ie selling items of sexual nature) since paypal is so huge, what activity would make them catch me or notice me doing this?
I'm worried because I've settled myself in a nice niche and have had sales no problem but i'm thinking that it's a matter of time before they freeze my paypal - which would suuuck.

Not looking to switch to Alertpay - I'd switch to other pay systems but paypal is most commonly used and it's much easier for my customers

Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions or info.

If you are selling, and you get alot of disputes. Other then that you should be ok.

there is a thread similar to this i read a couple of days ago.

if you are sellin high ticket items it triggers paypals system to check on your account, 2 years ago i was sellin hand built furniture on ebay and they flagged my account and held my money for 160 days, needless to say i lost that company because of the limitations

It really doesn't take much. As soon as we hit 1K balance, they requested we send them all kind of company documents to prove we were an actual company. We are a completely legit company, but because they didn't like our structure, they froze our account and the money in it. Took forever to get it out and we had a hell of a lot of downtime switching to a new provider.

Needless to say, I won't be using paypal ever again.

What are high ticket items? I seriously can't believe they froze your account for selling hand built furniture wtf...

So in order to do any kinds of business with paypal you need to be a legit company? that is, honestly for a lack of a better word, retarded.
